It's neither my friend. The venue staged it's first Northern Soul Night in 1975 and has held them every decade since. By all means check out this link for more info https://fb.me/e/7qx41CFTu . The point is, as far as we are aware it is the only venue in the area that originally held Northern Soul Nights back in the day (1975) and is still holding them today. In the same room that is relatively unchanged. We have been staging the events there for the last 3 years. We haven't said 'we' have been promoting the event for 50 years! Looking for a truly authentic Northern Soul Night for Dancers, at a venue with atmosphere and a perfect Dance Floor (talc friendly) ? Come to the 'Top of the Stairs' Northern Soul Night. The only Northern Soul Night in Northants, still performing after 50 years at the same venue! As current custodians of the Club's event, we are proud to be upholding that tradition. Important updates to this event!! We have managed to secure extra DJ's for this event, as well as a special tribute spot to the 'legendary' Rock Foundation Northern Soul Nights. These nights were held at the R.F. in Little Street Rushden between 1976 -1979. They were promoted by local boys John or 'Johnny' Warren & his Cousin Andy Luck. Johnny moved to Australia in the 1980s & helped form the scene down under! Johnny is currently on a short stay in the UK, so we are honoured that he has agreed to do an exclusive 'Double Deck' spot with T.O.T.S. Promoter & DJ Jem Brittin. Together they will be featuring some of the sounds which were synonymous with 'The Rock' Johnny is well known for his 'global' connections and contributions to the 'scene', including America, Australia & The UK. He has also published a series of books on the subject! Whether you attended the original events or not you are sure to be entertained on the night by Johnny & Jem. We also welcome for the first time behind the decks at T.O.T.S. local man Esmond Morgan. 'Ez' is an ardent Northern Soul fan, who still travels to events all over the UK, so will be known to many of you already. However getting behind the decks, is something he is only just exploring. He will be doing an early warm up spot, so please get there early to give the great man some well deserved support!
