  5. I just heard this on BBC TV too. Solomon was larger than life in personality and physique and a superb soul singer. Active until the end (he was coming to Europe to play shows in Amsterdam) he will be missed but will leave happy memories behind him. ''Got To Get You Off My Mind' was one of the first soul singles I ever heard on the radio and I still have my Atlantic copy.
  6. Hello Kev, You can buy direct, just email me for details: info@selectarecords.com Copies are also stocked by the usual outlets such as Crazy Beat, Voices, Simply Soul, Hall of Fame, Steve's Soul Sounds and others. They're also available from Record Shack (Austria) and Disk Union (Japan). Release date is Monday but most outlets already have stock. Best wishes, Paul
  7. Rights??? when did that bother some people!!!lol T.C
  8. Sadly I don't have rights to any Eddie Hinton masters, just publishing rights to a few of his songs. The next two Shotgun 45s aren't previously unissued things. Both will be out in November. Paul
  9. Paul---just listened (for the first time) to all 4 sides thru Headphones ------absolutely crystal clear lyrics and backing ---brilliant!! Well worth the wait(honest!!) Next some unreleased Eddie Hinton!!!!! T.C
  10. Hello Malc, It's the Memphis Horns, Wayne Jackson and Andrew Love. The backing vocals are by Jewel Bass, Valerie Kashimua and a girl called Cheryl. The rhythm section featured James Robertson on drums, Ray Griffin on bass and Carson Whitsett on keyboards. Carson passed away not very long ago. Paul

  20. Out on Monday, October 11th... EDDIE FLOYD: Missing You / You Must Have Been Dreaming Shotgun SHOT 104
  21. ...I said - and I quote - 'John Legend's not much of a singer' , Couldn't have made myself any clearer really. His modest vocal abilities would never have cut it in the company of those whose songs he's reinpterpreting for this project. And I'm basing that assesment on having seen him live, as well as having heard most if not all of his records.
  22. BTW, the artwork is absolutely fantastic!
  23. Nice idea - shame John Legend's not much of a singer, really.....
  24. Thanks, Mike. John Legend and The Roots are personal faves. This sure looks like a must have. BTW, I'm glad none of the tunes are on my wants list. I'd imagine originals might go up in price after this...
  25. Looks a good one here, always liked the roots band
