yeah I know it's totally different now, the recording I had of the 1974 version was muffled which made me think it was the same just recorded poorly or transferred poorly. Is there a red label and a blue label of the later version? I vaguely remember seeing a blue label but I'm probably confused about that now.

For some reason sweet soul people love this track (it is great though) and there are a bunch of crazy new sweet soul collectors that bid high.

The Deltones on Plut recent press went for almost $200 a couple of times and I noticed it went for like $15 the other day.

I actually don't like either side of this record very much, it's okay, not "monster". The linda jones version of "it won't take much" is much better in my opinion (but it doesn't have a northern flip).

Don't think it does, my copy is a white demo, and has both sides.

there goes my stupid theory (although they still could have thrown another artist as filler on the flip but not that likely).

I got one that doesn't really count. There is that really weird late 70s soul record, produced by Marvin Gaye, by a singer named Xavier on the Capquarius label. it's called "love man". And he's talking about himself. So the song is about an Xavier. But it's not in the title of the song, only the artist.

that's probably the most common x name but I definitely can't think of a soul song with that in the title. it seems like the type of title that someone would remember too.

For a project I'm doing that involves songs with names in the titles (Bobby Is My Baby, Carlena, etc., etc., etc.), I'm stumped on X and Y name records. Can anyone think of a soul, R&B, blues, funk, or gospel record that has a male or female name in the title or lyrics that starts with an X (probably a lost cause) or a Y (Yvonne, Yvette, Yolanda, Yul...?)
