My playlist in the Jim Wray Lounge, which is now in a room fitting of its importance. This is the 'Dogs B******s'. Superb venue, music (at least 80% I didn't know) people, hosts etc (not forgetting the food & beer) Thoroughly recommended to those who want something different. The only downside for me was the distance I had to travel.(over 200 miles).Many thanks to Steve Scotney for the lift & company (not forgetting John who travelled with us) My first time in the NE & will have to go back for more of a look round (I.e. only managed a quick look around Durham on the Sun morning)

A busy weekend for me as on the Sunday went to Steve Scotney & Brian Gouchers event in Stanwick.They are doing a splendid job along similar lines to Durham so get along to the next one if you can.

Superb night & the 1st for me in the new venue.Glad to see that the number of attendees was well up on my last visit as well.Brian & Steve are to be congratulated for 'sticking to their guns' with the music policy & glad it now seems to be paying off.

A big favourite of Charle Gillette on his Radio London Sunday lunchtime show 'Honky Tonk' aired in the 70's

Regretibly I did not see OR on this tour.Only discovered him 2/3 months before the plane crash that took his life (via Johnnie Walker's late night show on Radio Caroline)

I became a member of 'Uptight & Outa Sight' the Atlantic Stax appreciation society which was run by two girls (Jan Martin was one bucan't remember the others name) If you can track them down they could possibly help you. I did go to watch a film made of the tour which was shown at at Kensington or was it Knightsbridge Town Hall.Guess that would have been in 1968 or 1969!! It must have been a cine film on an old fashioned projector

went to a basement do in Hanway St about the same time.was on my Jack also  & was probably my 1st experience of a disco as i lived in the wilds of the cambridge fens.Went as Rufus Thomas was on but never got to see him as in my naivity it was an all night do & i had to get the last bus back to north London.It was a West Indian night with soul & reggae  played.I was not the only white face but was in a distinct minority.No trouble but at all.Yes  i agree CC is talking out of his backside.

Another wonderful night.Shall be looking to purchase the Mr Sipp & Otis Clay/Billy Price CD's asap Brian.
