RINGLEADERS - Boot?
I GOT ONE OF SOULBID.COM. THEY DO LOOK O.K. PERHAPS SOUNDING A BIT QUIETER THAN A CRISP CLEAR ORIG 45 BUT CAN'T COMPLAIN FOR THE MONEY. I DO REMEMBER HEARING AN EMIDISC BEING PLAYED AT A SOUL NITE & IT DID SOUND PRETTY POOR.

EBAY STORIES ?
AndyB MAKES A GOOD POINT THERE THAT IF YOU REALLY WANT A RECORD ON EBAY & ARE PREPARED TO PAY A LOT (OBVIOUSLY WITHIN REASON) THEN ENTERING A DAFT FIGURE SUCH AS £999999 THEN U ARE LIKELY TO GET THE ITEM - JUST THAT DANGER OF BEING SUSSED AND BEING PUSHED FAR BEYOND YOUR EXPECTED LIMIT, I STILL STICK WITH PUTTING IN MY MAX BID (I.E. THE MOST I AM PREPARED TO PAY FOR A RECORD, AND LEAVE IT - HAVE A LOOK WHEN BIDDING IS FINISHED = IF YOU WIN IT, YOU WIN IT, IF YOU DONT NEVER MIND, ANOTHER WILL COME ALONG SOMEDAY!OTHERWISE YOU JUST END UP IN A DUTCH AUCTION WITH SOMEONE

Unplayed/Underplayed Jackie Wilson tracks
I personally dont have a problem with tracks being played from LPs so long as they are cred LPs (not compilations as such). I play a few tracks on my set for example The Tempests - Someday, stuff from Betty Wright LP (I have seen for sale for up to £50, got mine off ebay for $10!), I've also just got Little Willie John on a King LP containing the biggie 'I'm Shakin'. All good stuff, all originals so whats the problem? DJ's have been playin LP tracks since I went to Wigan, Searling was spinning Harley Hatchers 'Soul Hustler' from an Lp covered up as Al De Lory 'Discotec Alibi' (needs reactivating!!), another that springs to mind is 'Backwards Upside Down' by the Outsiders (like the Tempests 'Someday' never seen it on 45 - please correct me if I am wrong that I dont think they exist on 45. And by the looks of it, it looks like the only way I will hear that J Wilson - Open The Dorr..' track is by getting the LP (unless someone has the Aussie EP going cheap!! Grant

RINGLEADERS - Boot?
Note that the Ringleaders 'All of My Life' is doing the rounds available in black and red vinyl? Is it a boot or legit limited issue?

Smallest man alive .. wigan or stafford
Thats right Greg - a lot of early Stafford sounds had previously been broke or attempted to be broke at the Casino such as Smallest Man Alive, also remember 'Stafford' biggies such as Betty Lloyd, Ray Agee, Executive 4, Chaumonts instr., etc being spun in the latter days of the Casino

total b******s!! - i sure hope that i am around when he plays eddie parker 'im gone' not heard that for years at a niter or soul nite. another gem on his playlist is little nicky soul - absolute stormer that u never hear being played, fantastic dancer - oh and not to forget one of my all time faves the cashmeres 'showstopper'. wont be able to make the first manchester niter mark but will be asking for the above at the next one mate. i dont think it matters how rare or expensive a record is as long as the punters speak with their feet and i cant see one record in mark b's list that doesnt fall in to that category. as mark b says 'keep it real'
