Claude Baby Huey Keep It To Myself C/w Didn't We Have Some Good Times M. I. O. B.= Music Is Our Business. And what a satisfying business it is, when 45s of this calibre come up for sale! Claude Baby can't help himself but unceasingly singing with arrowed-attitude, his turbulent vocal style marries completely to Ozzy Osborne's horn-driven production, with Frank James adding the compulsory girl-group the whole sessions welds into another Claude Baby Huey excursion into Bay Area Northern soul. Flipside is another example of Huey's masterful technique with the Deep Soul ballad, as he raps and bemoans his way into your heart, again aided by those harmonic girls. We think this 45 is another case of a truly fine piece of rare Northern Soul just begging for the right DJ and club....to then fly! Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 110.00 Wynder K. Frog Green Door Condition, condition, condition! Mike Weaver's band captured the very essence of mid-60s British music circuit as they backed other Island acts like Jackie Edwards, Traffic etc on their regular tours of Brit-Clubs & Universities. But also manage to record some of Island-Label's most-wanted. This 1967 example is something of a Northern Soul classic & a MOD anthem. As it's wildly off-the-wall arrangement would leave it stuck in your mind days after leaving Wigan Casino, where the DJs of Mr. M's room would play the hell out of it. This is a good time tune! Not for the NS purist perhaps, but a recording that still has the same effect today as it did back then, filling the dancefloor and constantly replaying itself through your pre-frontal lobe at the most-unexpeted moments. We are pleased today to be able to offer this 45 in it's rarest form in condition you can only dream of in 2012! Other than a brief light sleeve brush this record in PERFECT, having been filed in a hoarders collection apparently since 1967. Some people thankfully for our many perfectionists, don't play records they just file them! Condition, condition, condition! Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 79.00 Tobi Lark Lots Of Heart Every single note as good as any street-level female soul 45 to ever emerge from the Motor City. Mike Hanks flexes his studio talents by writing, arranging & producing this Tobi's RAREST 45. A mid-tempo groove featuring a lavish gathering of shrill girls to back Tobi's incredible vocal range. Just like her "Time Will Pass You By" the "voice" pierces the air with expressive trembling accuracy. Mike's use of the keyboard breaks up this ladies night into segments of pure Detroit dance. Undeservedly, perhaps her least known Northern Soul offering, another case of a 45 suffering from it's own rarity. But I'm sure exposure on the auction will ignite greater awareness - of what is a thoroughly enchanting Detroit Delight! Occasional but light age spots to the yellow label (see scan), Vinyl is the finest I've encountered in recent times for this rarely seen above vg rarity. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 461.00

Miracles Ooo Baby Baby C/w All That's Good Third release in the newly launch EMI Tamla Motown label of 1965 and one of the few British releases that delivered pure vocal-group Heaven. (Originals - Baby I'm For Real - also jumps to mind) Perhaps the British public were not ready for this forward-thinking masterpiece it as not until the early 70s when the Delphonics & The Stylistics made sweet soul popular in the UK. It sold poorly as the Brit-Tamla fan was firmly hooked on the upbeat driving dance tune. A a groundbreaking sweet-soul-harmony ballad that stood as a benchmark for others to follow as it reach top 20 Billboard charts in the USA. As the TMG503 with an EMI "Factory Sample "not for sale" sticker" in flawless condition it is a rarely witnessed number in the series. Two perfect labels, vinyl that only reveals a light blemishes in strong light. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 56.00 Twisted Wheel Flyers June, July Forthcoming Attractions + Special Summer Admin Price 10th of June 1969 a Burton On Trent teenager received his eagerly awaited Twisted Wheel flyers. As a member of England's most-renowned All-Night Club he must have been ecstatic to see Jamo Thomas was live at the the end of the month, James Carr would take the Whitworth Street stage July 12th. Astonishingly these two artifacts of MOD and Northern Soul history have slept inside the original postal envelope for 41 years! Condition could not be finer! The 8 act billing for June / July 1969 ignites an instant yearning for a time machine - the 10 /- special admin price handbill is a historical testament that during the summer months most self respecting MODS were at the seaside come the weekend! Two leaflets that say so much about the embryonic Brit-soul/MOD-scene of the late 60s; a window into the eyes and mind of that Burton On Trent teenager who religiously made the trip 150 mile round trip on a Saturday. Today most of you reading this review, would walk a 15,000 miles to witness James Carr taking care of business, and some dare we say, may not understand what 10 /- means. Historical in the extreme... Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 45.00 Pleasures Music Cty C/w If I Had A Little Money Jack Nitzsche relentless arrangement, creates "Popcorn" 5 Royals style vocal-group beater, the novelty lyrics and background vocals all add up to a memorable & different production, that has you dropping the stylus again for another listen. Released in 1963 on the street-level label "Catch" but as Britain's most collectible 45 label -this is a super-rarity in the series; # 357 in "as new" condition snoozing in it's original birth sleeve! Condition of this level in 2012 is just totally unattainable, this is one for those many of you who demand peerless condition, inside their much-adored label runs. And you are viewing a ridiculously elusive member within the Daddy-Of-All-Brit-Labels. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 74.00 Leonard Jewel Smith All My Good Lovin' (is Going To Waste) C/w The Elevator Song It's that man again! Len teams up this time with Hal Winn, a man who guided respected Los Angeles soul acts like Brenton Wood etc. In fact on this recording both sides are produced by Brenton Wood, Hal Winn & Maurice Rogers, arranged by Gene Page, with Len Jewel co-composing the lyrics. So what did this meeting of the minds create on Paul Gayten's Hollywood label in the summer of 1970. Topside is a brass & vibe driven joy, that above all previous recordings frames L.J.S.'s vocal prowess to the maximum. Hal & Len's penchant for the vocal-group chorus is again evident throughout. BUT THERE'S MORE!! flip over for a previously passed-over sensation, that has in recent times overtook the a-side as the more-curious NS DJ champion this choppy upbeat crossover dancer, that is every second as good as the classic a-side. Two sides to-die-for, but what else would you expect when all these guys take lunch together. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 380.00

Penetrations Sweet, Sweet Baby C/w Champagne Shrine, Artco & Teri De are these the top 3 most-coveted labels for the Northern Soul scholar. We think so. Teri De was the vehicle for the extreme talents of Leonard Jewel Smith &friends. Almost without exception L.J.S. and a mixture of Jimmy Conwell, Sir Hank Graham, Ben Gresham, Miles Grayson, & Godoy Colbert would craft total Northern Soul on these most-prized 5 "flesh" coloured releases. This August 1967 example, as the previous 4 do, offers classic style Northern Soul not once but twice over. Upbeat, feelgood, extravagant vocal-group arrangements you cannot find a flaw with. This copy the vinyl has some fine light surface blemishes and a tiny "vinyl pimple" NONE of which affect play - check out the highly-impressive double-soundfile it plays flawless, then gaze upon this prestigious label and dream of owning them all. (hardly anyone does) Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 467.00 Charlie Harris All Over Town From Fred Kibble's highly coveted Houston, Texas stable comes this eye-popping totally gorgeous super-rarity! Tex-Mex trumpet calls Charlie into action, has he runs through the dances taking Houston by a storm supported by those infectious trumpets. The whole thing comes together like a trusty Major Lance tune. A case of "simple is genius" also a case of absolutely resplendent REDVINYL and stupidly hard to find. Resist if you can... Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 208.00 Impressions You Ought To Be In Heaven Not only the Impressions rarest PROMO on ABC, this copy is PERFECT! A b-side that made it huge, on the back of plays by imaginative NS DJ's who peered past those other obviously superb Impressions ABC dance sessions. This particular 45 from was lifted from their highly regarded "Fabulous Impressions" album. A top-drawer killer tune, where the real value lies in it being a seldom-seenPROMO copy is "as new" condition. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 55.00 Charles Brandy I Can't Get Enough Of You C/w Without Your Love WOW! With uncontrolled envy in 1975 I gazed at Soul Sam's Cleethorpes Pier turntables, whilst he debuted this juggernaut of Northern Soul to the "Pier People". I loved the label, I'd never seen it before, but this was "proper" "real deal" NS I thought, so my quest for a copy began. It was fully 20 barren years or more, before I eventually netted a copy. Imagine my ecstasy when I flipped it over to investigate the b-side; revealing as we all now know now, the very summit of the Beat Ballad sound! Up to this day, I've never heard a finer example of the Big City Sound! Today this incredibly rare disc offering two magnificent examples of our music is on the market for only the 3rd time in all my years of vinyl-sniffing. And it still excites me, every goose-pimple as much, as it did when Soul Sam was doing his legendary "Waist upwards" gig to it, standing very smug behind those North Sea decks. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 1,084.00

Chicken Loose c/w Twngin' My Thing Burning Desire Why She Had To Go C/w You Must Do Your Best So rare it hurts! Drop the needle on any side you choose, you will be treated to vocal-group excellent sitting in two different genres. Tyrone Taylor and his five teammates craft two strong examples of 70s vocal-group distinction. Topside's countdown gives way to a slick bass guitar rhythm, subtle congas beat out the pace with Tyrone Taylor's sleek vocal tones taking lead, as timely vocal group assistance enriches the this very classy, jazz-infused session. PURE CLASS. Flip it over for a "Slave" style dance experience - high-pitched chants step back for the falsetto lead to unleash itself. Vocally outrageously good, but as with the top side it's the highly accomplished jazz-infused instrumentation that lifts this record into greatness. DOG-RARE!! Just so darn Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 461.00 Chuck Young The Shower Of Love C/w From Sam To You And Me Some American towns carry a huge reputation for local music and independent labels providing all manner of interesting vinyl, San Antonio, Texas is one; another that springs to mind is Greenville, South Carolina. This super-rare 60s Northern Soul backed with a Deep Soul flipside was born from this city with well less than a 1,000,000 people in the 60s, makes you wonder how many were musicians and singers with a seemingly endless delivery of Rare-Indie creations. Chuck & Liggon S. Young joined forces on this imaginative hammond driven Northern Soul outing, showcasing an expressive vocal and finger-slick keyboard work, a wah-wah guitar keeps the rhythm going on this fluid street-level dancer. Flip it over for a deconstruction of Sam Cooke's classic, with a descriptive rap-intro underlining his views on life - before seamlessly sliding into a slant on "A Change Is Gonna Come" - superb overlooked Southern Soul jewel. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 53.00 Delanieur You Are A Part Of Me 1984 witnessed the last release on this iconic label, and Leonard again unwittingly molded another extreme rarity. Leonard Jewel Smith left us with a delicious girl-vocal two-stepper delight.L.J.S. incorporates a subtle synthesizer backing, which cleverly falls into an inconspicuous rhythm, the flooding seamless vocal group calls, the skilled plectrum plucking complimenting, what can only be described as a sultry temptress on lead. Leonard & team you were geniuses! Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 102.00 Lee Mcdonald Sweet Magic Inc: I'll Do Anything You are viewing one of the most-magnificent, most-wanted, least seen modern-soul albums on the planet. 1981 Patterson, New Jersey D.I.Y. project that sadly failed with sales but succeeded in providing the soul collector with 8 track experience of anti-disco 80s soul. inc: the I'll Do Anything, Let's Play Luck, We've Only Just Begun, Sweet Magic plus 4 more. Tobi Legend Time Will Pass You By C/w Heartbreaker OMG a STOCK COPY! We all love record finding stories, so let us assure you this "Legendary" 45 was not found in the USA. Of course it wasn't!! For almost 40 years 10's of 1000s vinyl-hounds have been turning the USA upside-down for treasures of this calibre. It was discovered in SCANDINAVIA last month and until it's unearthing most probably UNPLAYED. vinyl is see-your-face-in-it perfect. The only flaw is a drill-hole at the edge of the label, that has caused a minuscule stress hairline in the deadwax. Do WIGAN CASINO anthems get any more enticing than this offering - no they certainly don't and when they've never met a Northern Soul turntable before today they are ridiculously desirable. BEYOND RARE and saturated in Northern Soul street-cred. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 1,370.00 Freddie Houston If I Had Known C/w Only The Lonely One Turn the volume down or Freddie Houston will tear your house down! The rarest of his two Old Town 45s is a Bobby Adams composition sewn into a gargantuan production; saturated in horns, girls and depressive pained vocal delivery that Freddie made is trademark. Addictive Popcorn flavoured bluesy Northern Soul replicating that "Stafford" atmosphere Sam Fletcher made into a timeless monster. But Freddie does it angrier, harder, longer as his vocal erects the hair on the back of your head. Freddie Houston offers up the very finest example of this addictive genre! Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 419.00 Marvelettes Twistin' Postman We doubt a finer copy exists in the world today - mirror finish vinyl, perfect labels. Breathtaking condition for this 50 year old historical 45. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 88.00

Big Dee Irwin You Satisfy My Needs C/w I Wanna Stay Right Here With You Perfectionists gaze upon a 46 years old in exactly the same state as the day it was born. A perfect UNPLAYED copy, of Pam Sawyers & Lori Burton's mid-paced masterpiece, guided by the skilled Roy Glover string arrangement, as Big Dee Irwin's gently purrs the opening lines, the girls coo the chorus signaling Dee to up his game - and how. Sorry, this item has already been won! TheTener label released all manner of 60s Florida local recordings, is notorious for tiny "Custom" runs, sometimes as little as 50 copies would be the sum total of release. We have no way of knowing exactly how many copies this example were made. But one thing we are certain about, is that this like all 45 on the label - is stupidly-RARE Sorry, this item has already been won! Shorty Billups Shake Off That Dream C/w Alone Without question the rarest of this killer tunes mixes & labels with this take being backed with a one release only, Deep Soul flipside. Check out the soundfile, there's is no hint of trying of commercialization this earlier Shorty Billups d.i.y. production, as opposed to the Gary Paxton's steared Garpax session. Shorty's gritty gravel-coated vocal bobs and weaves it's way through a maze of strings, bass guitar and piano creating an irresistible dancer supported by a girl-choir, this is 70s soulful-dance of the very highest order. If that's not enough the flipside gives up a Deep Soul ballad which Mr, Billups claws, pleads and begs his way to heartbreak. Do you need to hear an more?... no of course not. Another Sheridan-House creation that carries a huge and well deserved reputation, for quality, exclusivity and acute rarity. This Northern Soul trophy-piece is in just flawless condition throughout! Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 1,037.00 Kenny Lynch Movin' Away One of England's great entertainers of the 60s - multi-talented does not get near to describing this gifted performer. Movie theme composer, comedian,TV actor, club-singer, lyricist, critic (he openly criticized Lennon &McCartney's early 60s writing prowess) TV personality, even sang at Eurovision Song Contest. But his preference was for "Soul" related productions having worked with great producers like Jerry Ragovoy, and also writing for The Small Faces. But most important to us, is he is the man behind several highly collectible Northern Soul British 45s. Before you today is the very pinnacle of those 45s. As you would have guessed written by Kenny himself and produced by Soul-motivated Brit-producer Johnny Harris. The result is a captivating 1967 mid-tempo that was years ahead of it's time. Chris Blackwell was never one to present the obvious - this album covers the pairs "Moonglow Years" of 1962 to 1964 when SOUL was their passion. Then again, if Mr. Blackwell's inclinations was for the mainstream UK SUEtoday would not be this island's most-coveted record label. This copy is in...mouthwatering condition. Jimmy Hughes My Loving Time C/w I'm Qualified The temptation of the London DEMO! Yellow and alluring the draw of vinyl in this format is like Green & Black's chocolate in the fridge; you know yo shouldn't but you just have to. Fabulous Northern Soul dancer from the Muscle Shoals workshop showcases the Fame Studio's premier artists at his smoothest... Surprisingly relegated to a flipside this subtle guitar driven mid-tempo offers up an utterly delicious stroller, underlining the skills Rick Hall & Quin Ivy's team. Deceivingly gentle but oh so very addictive...just like chocolate. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 128.00 Inez & Charlie Foxx Mockingbird Oh the beauty of British SUE! This 1964 UK press is in just astonishing condition, a eyebrow raising in fact. LABELS are PERFECT no sign of a spindle entering the center hole - maybe virgin-vinyl revealing just two incredibly fine blemishes in strong light. FRONT COVER is as good-as-it-gets BACK COVER has very light shade of 38 years browning, even retains original inner poly-lined inner sleeve. SUE is the ultimate of all British 60's labels - the labels album are all without exception ridiculously difficult to find - but in this condition - think impossible! Norman Johnson & The Showmen Take It Baby C/w In Paradise Totally MINT - unplayed as far as we can see - soundfile has been lifted from a USA Swan label release; giving us a long-overdue opportunity to yell the praises of this under-played Northern Soul double-helping from an icon. You will be amazed that this 45 did not 4 decades ago take the scene by storm because both sides are just perfect Philly created Northern. Showcasing the General's magnificent guttural vocal style welded to a perfect 60s dance production. Time to shelve "Our Love Will Grow" and air this killer - far, far rarer than his other "Action" release and offering every note and warble as good if not better. Personally I didn't think it possible to find a genuine MINT 1968 Action 45 in 2012, let alone arguably the finest the label ever released. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 99.00 Brenda Holloway Starting The Hurt All Over Again C/w Just Look What You've Done Other than this Los Angeles Princess's unissued "Reconsider" - "Starting The Hurt All Over Again" is by far her finest Motown Northern Soul offering - hidden away on the flipside of an almost as explosive Frank Wilson session "Just Look What You've Done" This 1967 British DEMO offers two fantastic dancefloor destoyers in their rarest attire. in the type of condition that the Tamla Motown perfectionist seeks. Flawless TMG 608 DEMO - click the soundfile and dance! Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 138.00 Bell Boys I Don't Want To Lose You C/w Woman I Love Akron, Ohio does Chicago and how! Karl Tarleton & Carl Davis's composition for Jackie Wilson is ripped by Pat Sferro's team on this 1968 local session. A record that simultaneously crammed the dancefloors of Wigan Casino & Cleethorpes Pier during the mid-70s. Now considered a timeless but extremely elusive NS classic. Today there is a different reason to get a little excited about this offering - the flipside is outrageously charged Northern Soul. International DJs Michael Robinson & Keb Darge have been championing "Woman I love" for some time. The first Northern Soul Jock to back it will have a monster on his hands. Click the soundfile you'll have no problem imagining your combustable-club-dancefloor igniting - no matter which side you drop the needle on. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 261.00 Johnny Howard The Chase Is On C/w I Miss My Lady Johnny Howard injects a little energy into The Artistics mid-tempo masterpiece, the result is cascading Chicago Northern Soul that just makes you feel the need to dance! Marvin Smith, Billy Butler & Carl Smith composition is lifted by bongo's, horns and a quickening pace driven by a bank of strings, full choir backing chorus strengthens and already piled-high Kitchen-sink production; then a savage-sax break leaves you thinking - WHAT ELSE!! is Tom Tom Washington & Willie Henderson gonna throw in the mix. Will those days ever return when a soul recording was crafted by a studio crammed with musicians and real instruments. If there ever was a record we could point to and say productions of this calibre are now sadly "a lost art" this is "IT" This copy is a 1969 PROMO in perfect condition, vinyl & both labels are flawless. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 224.00

Blues & Soul Blues & Soul No. 2 - Novenber 1967 the incredibly RARE no 2 in the series that went on for another 4 decades informing Black Music fans of their heroes and their music. Front cover is a STAX recording studio shot of Sam & Dave. Inside the magazine offers a two page SKA insight to the current top 10 sellers and reviews of new issue albums and singles. Plus all the Soul Charts both sides of the Atlantic. Back page is a full pageEMI advert for Stateside, Tamla Motown, United Artists albums. No. 2 in the series - very hard to find! Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 193.00 Mell Hueston Searching C/w I Need Some Loving Now here's a seldom-seen oddity that I'm always pleased to meet up with, because I just adore BOTH sides. So why is it odd? The label references Los Angeles, this is a solid Detroiter; a Walter Whisenhunt session, the husband of Gloria Taylor; who always delights with his consistently tight precise fluid productions, but the L. A. address and co-producer, a mysterious Casablanca puzzles. What doesn't puzzle one iota is what's in the grooves - "Searching" is a superb version of Willie Hatcher's Groovesville session - flip it over to be met by a Detroit instrumental that just drips with the City's Sound and era. Two strong sides - seldom seen for sale and another 45 underlining just how much untapped quality is rare but acquirable, for the NS jock to give more than just a cursory turntable outing to. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 190.00 Calif. Malibus Love In My Life C/w I Stand Alone Anyone remember the larger than life character Bob Catteneo aka Daly City Bob. A soul-collector turned dealer who's Bay Area establishment Soul Odyssey carved the future of so many fledgling Brit dealers. (Mine included) Bob would source and dispatch all California new soul releases many of which became UK All-Niter monsters, some which slept for a few years to emerge decades later at purist venues like Soul Essence or The Orwell. Some today still lay in the most complete of Europe's Soul collections having had little or no club exposure. This example, has over the years visited all 3 scenarios. In the year 2012 this 1976 Daly City immigrant is elusive and loaded with all the ingredients for aNS renaissance. Take listen, it is instant 70s Soulful dance with a flipside that will delight the Sweet Soul sucker. Potential is frankly obvious... Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 148.00 Bill Horton I Wanna Know Frank Virtue surprisingly never credited a vocal-group on this Bill Horton rarity, after all from the very first note this Philly Northern Soul stroller is full-on vocal-group Northern Soul in the traditional style. This recording is essentially by THE SILHOUETTES showing off all the qualities of the "Not Me Baby" monster, this recording too enjoys the booming lead vocal of a man who's career led The Silhouettes to not only local but worldwide success. What price, I wonder if the credits read SILHOUETTES? as this 45 in our experience is rarer than their highly-valued GOODWAY trophy. Listen to the impressive soundfile of a sleeper, that has snoozed in obscurity for far too long. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 159.00

Gloria Jones Tainted Love Is there a better known Northern Soul record? we think not as Soft Cell's cover version "Hit" in 17 different countries. Let's face it, Marc Almond was not the only teenager affected to the core when he heard "Tainted Love" for the very first time, allegedly on a suggestion from his local Northern Soul DJ Ian "Frank" Dewhirst he should record this instead of the insipid drivel of his previous indie recording. Well he went away and did just that - selling literally millions of copies and kick-starting a long and successful career. Before you today though is something rather special - this iconic 1964 Northern Soul anthem in it's RAREST label design pressed in vinyl, that is 48 years after it's birth in MINT - condition. Straight from America - bypassing all the rigors of the Northern Soul circuit - ready for those of you seeking the pristine NS classics in the finest possible condition. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 388.00 Ty Karim You Just Don't Know Just occasionally, a record collecting moment makes your heart race, your palms perspire, leaving you breathless. For me it's always when I encounter a Northern Soul trophy in unimaginable condition. Not only is this record in any condition a NS prize most will never own in their lifetime but this copy is MINT! Astonishing truly flawless copy of Los Angeles undisputed Queen of independent soul RAREST 45! Northern Soul foraging does not get any better than this! Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 2,614.00 Harvey And The Jokers Soul Sound Harvey's gonna bring you the "Soul Sound" on a raft of mellow horns characteristic of the Carolinas creations that have enriched the British Northern Soul scene for decades. The haunting lead vocal weaves it's path through complimentary brass and tricky guitar work, blending Northern Soul mid-tempo perfection. You are viewing a Northern Soul trophy piece, one of only a handful of copies known, seldom seen for sale; especially in this fine clean condition. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 1,112.00 Thelma Houston Baby Mine C/w The Woman Behind Her Man Especially for those discerning collectors who seek PERFECTION whilst acquiring the Northern Soul classics. If your edging towards that magically milestone 60 years of age. This 45 holds the power to catapult your mind back evoking visions of; The Torch, The Cats, Leeds Central, Saturday afternoons in Select-A-Disc, pilgrimages to Wigan Casino, Va Va's or wherever that NS addiction took hold. Thelma Houston's "Baby Mine" just screams the NORTHERN SOUL GLORYYEARS 1972 - 1975. So in 2012 to find an UNPLAYED untouched copy is for me a delight. I'm perhaps the most untidy person in the world - but pristine vinyl & labels - just does it for me. Deep Soul depressionists listen to the flipside and weep... Sorry, this item has already been won! Johnny Mack I Want To Live Every Day For Your Love C/w Let Them Talk Johnny McArthur with a ridiculously rare Miami slab of Northern Soul backed with tortured Deep Soul experience. Top side is a potent brass activated mid-pace dancer reminiscent of so many Memphis recordings, but many forget that Miami also had a less obvious but burgeoning 60s Soul contingent who crafted some of the very rarest NS 45 known. Flip it over to have your mood completely turned upside down as Johnny McArthur grinds your emotions down with a truly anguished version of the Billy Young standard. Like 'em rare? We can assure you this copy, is our very first in memory. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 59.00 Hockadays Hold On Baby C/w Fairy Tales When Bert Berns & Phil Medley team up the only result is something rather special. This New York vocal-group Northern Soul dancer is just perfect to take over the NS mantle left by the over-exposure Marv Johnson - Come On and Stop - which was perhaps the biggest crowd-pleaser of recent times. This rarity drips with all the same qualities including an irresistible trumpet break! Take a listen in the correct hands this too will be a MONSTER - being a 1000 times the end-potential is rather obvious. PS. Can anyone tell me, is this band the shrapnel from the Parakeets with Charles Hockaday on 2nd. tenor? Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 104.00 Betty Harris Soul Perfection incredibly rare 1969 British press, in our experience the least witnessed album in the series. Offering up fully 16 of her very finest New Orleans SANSU recordings and ironiocally NOT issued in the USA until 1980. The soundfile is just a taster of what this awesome album holds - it is as the title suggests this is SOULPERFECTION! We would normally only offer pristine lp's for auction - but this item is a stand-out album, so here's the exact condition. FRONT COVER is unblemished with only an occasional faint laminate vein to indicate handling. BACK COVER has a discreet name and date in biro. Label has a discreet signature also. VINYL a-side has only a few light surface marjks NOT affecting play. b-side vinyl has a light scuff on track 2. "Lonely Hearts" The whole gorgeous thing plays clean and true, the cover is stunning, the music is SOUL PERFECTION! Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 62.00

American Poets She Blew A Good Thing Some records are just so well-constructed you never tire of hearing them. I heard this played at The Irish Club, Nottingham all-niter recently; it sounded every note as "fresh" as it did back in 1970 when I first heard it at the legendary "Brit" club. It's classic and a timeless one, so when we discover a copy in blinding flawless condition I feel like it's 1970 and I living my teen-soul-years all over again when I scoured the junk shops, market stalls for a copy of this and most everything the "Brit" spun back in the day. It is 42 years on now, I must admit I've never ever found a copy "junking" nor am i ever likely to. In this condition - impossible! Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 95.00 Henry Brooks Mini Skirts C/w Greatest Debt To My Mother Again not sure which side to lead with, but we strongly advise you listen to the full soundfile as Henry Brooks completely changes styles from one side to the other. Topside is RARE New York FUNK screamer in the true tradition of James Brown, Henry shakes it down on a cascade of skillfully plucked Wah-Wah &bass guitars. The man's harsh guttural vocal marries perfectly to this wicked dance production. Flip it over for a total U-Turn as Henry is joined by an uncredited cooing vocal group who somewhat soothe the lead voice as it rides a gentle but highly effective rhythm track the result is Northern Soul Crossover at it's unparalleled BEST! Both sides are right-on-the-money! Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 184.00 Impressions Gypsy Woman One of the greatest soul-groups of the last century with their first BritishHMV release from 1961. Curtis Mayfield's genius seeps from every note, as this 45 paths the way for them to become first the MODS darling-group and then Northern Soul icons. Click the sound-file and allow Jerry Butler, Curtis Mayfield, Sam Gooden, Richard Brooks and Arthur Brooks to paint a picture of a dusky-maiden dancing around a campfire. So very classic and so, so tough to acquire in this near perfect condition. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 43.00 Stormy I Won't Stop To Cry C/w The Devastator I did have to pause for thought, deciding which side to list first. Both are equally enthralling pieces of classy 60s vocal-group Chicago Northern Soul. A double-serving, in the style of NS that eventually ends up rather expensive, as this 45 has never been "around", in fact it has been forever annoyingly elusive - upon clicking the sound-file we think you'll agree a fatter price tag is long overdue. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 363.00
