  1. Does anyone know this 45? THE MARVELLS This Can't Go On / Dizzy Jones Birdland (Yorey 1002) Killer up-tempo northern. Any idea on it's value?
  2. Never asked if it was rare (doesn't have the sound to be rare if you ask me) All I wanted to know is if it is the same Pat Livingston on Money & Wilstone.
  3. No...It's Cappy & Stonewall. Basically it was just Cappy. Stonewall were a bunch of studio musicians from the Sacramento, Ca. area.
  4. Independant Lady was also released a second time with a tune called Party Time In The Gas Line by Cappy. He just told me that someone overseas bought 10 copies for $15 each. He was really mad when they started showing up on Ebay.
  5. Here it is....I love Cappy's vocals on this one https://members.aol.com/joeyd3/cas.mp3
  6. I hope this works... https://members.aol.com/joeyd3/pl.mp3
  7. The silence is deafoning. Is this unknown or just a crappy record? I think the Bad News side is great!
  8. Is this a unknown record? Someone out there must know it. It's from the early 70's.
  9. Here's another Sacramento 45 I discovered recently. PAT LIVINGSTON. Life Goes On / Let's Walk Away As Friends (Elco 446) Life Goes On is a nice mid-tempo number and the flip is a ballad. Same label as the Mary Love tune. Is this the same Pat Livingston that recorded on Money & Wilstone? I've heard rumours that it is.
  10. No responses on this one, does that mean it's an unknown 45?
  11. Do you have a link to the hitsville site?
  12. The Schireck label owner has no tapes of records. Great people though. The LORD LUTHER 45 was their only release.
  13. Lord Luther and the Schireck label were based out of the BAY AREA in Ca. (Not New York) Alec Palao and I are putting together a cd of Lord's stuff, mostly late 50's / early 60's screaming R&B, including 2 different versions of I was A Teenage Creature. He was in The Four Deuces who did W-P-L-J- (White Port Lemon Juice) on Music City outta Oakland. The single on Schireck is his only Northern Souler. We are looking for someone who has a mint copy that they can dub and scan for our cd project. The copy we have access to isn't very nice. The Lord is still alive and well and is in his early 7ts. The cd will either be on Ace Records or Frantic Records. We also have tons of other tapes from the Frantic vaults, lots of unreleased all recorded in the late 50's & early 60's, Some killer group stuff!!! Luther Vandross...Now that's hilarious!
  14. Does anyone have this 45 by CAPPY & STONEWALL Bad News / Independant Lady, and it's on the Love Capp label. It's from '73/'74. I've talked to Cappy and I'm trying to secure some unreleased 6ts/7ts masters from him for release. He was a member of the SIXTEENS (A Casual Look) & the ELGINS both on the Flip label. I've been collectiong Sacramento area records for years and never knew of this 45 til recently. Got a near mint copy for 25 cents. If anyone has heard Bad News what do you think of the sound. I think it's killer.
  15. Excellent! Mine is an original. Finally someone with the real poop!!! Thanx a lot. Of Course I was pretty sure that it was. I'm sure whoever pressed the new versions, is keeping them close to the vest and I wouldn't have found one in a box at a garage sale in Sacramento for a BUCK !
  16. Sounds like no one is in agreement yet. There is no doubt that my flat black label with MUSIC CITY in the dead wax is original. 25 cents at a garage sale in Sacramento, 3000 miles away from Georgia. But looking at the old thread on this subject some people say the copies that surfaced 2 years ago were re-presses. Can someone step in and say for sure? Phil...What's your last name?
  17. I sell lots of soul and garage on Ebay. I just sold the only known copy of the UNIQUES 45 (Esar) a few weeks ago on Ebay. I've also helped out Ace/Big Beat with a bunch of their releases.
  18. I'm glad I found one for 25 cents!!!
  19. Hi Guys....This is my 1st post on this forum. I hope you guys can help me. I picked up a vg+++ to near mint copy (2 light paper scuffs) of the OXFORD NIGHTS 45 on Delhi last weekend. I got it for 25 cents at a garage sale in Sacramento. The guy had (2) 45s for sale, The OXFORD NIGHTS & a square dance 45 It looked interesting so I bought it. I did some research when I got home and found out a quantity were found 2 years ago. I see that the last copy sold on Ebay for $793 in June of 2006. But I also see that the last 2 copies didn't sell for $500 & $336. I post a lot on the Garage band forum and on one of their threads (Thrift scores) I posted that I had found this 45 by OXFORD NIGHTS. One of the members recognized it and asked me if it had a flat label or glossy label. I said flat and that it had MUSIC CITY machine stamped in the dead wax. He PM'ed me and said that it was an original. But he said that the recent copies turned up were the glossy re-presses from a few years ago. Since these were going for high prices and that a lot of people were mad once they found out that they (got burned) weren't originals, the value on mine would be greatly diminished. What do you guys think? It seems my original would still be quite valuable. Any thoughts? Whoops...I just found a couple of more posts on this topic. But after reading all of them, I'm still in the dark. I'm sure mine is original. But what is the final word on the re-presses? Are they on flat or glossy labels? And do they have MUSIC CITY stamped in the dead wax? Thanx a lot Joey D
