the nice old lady that worked in rookys was called JERI THOMPSON . she was also the lead singer in a blues band called JERI THOMPSON and the TEXAS TWISTERS.i went to SF a few times in the late 90's early 2000's and always went to see her in rookys for a chat and buy some records.when i was out in SF in 2001 i went and saw them play at the boom boom room on filmore st . so sad to hear that she has passed on, she was a lovely lady and she sure knew her 6ts soul .

yeh i was there aswell that night at the roadmender club russ, mr gready run that night also. up the cobblers
went to a soul night about 5-6 years ago called the venue in northampton. it was run by a bloke called paddy gready, we paid £9 each to see snake davis who was very good and the night was going great until mr gready decided he hadn't made enough money on the night ,so he let a load of student types in who were all pissed up for £4.50 each as he was only in it for the money . you can guess what happend next ! they started taking the piss and then fights broke out. spoilt what was up till then a goodnight . i think that ended up being the last soul night there .
