Well here is the list so far, I have not counted them yet so lord knows if we are any where near 500 but who cares? As I said in my earlier posts, if there are any glaring monstrosities that need removing then just let me know and if it can be justified then I will delete the track. I would ask you all to appreciate that all of these tracks have been added by Soul Source people so they are all important to some and therefore deserve inclusion on here. Also I have not checked for duplication so again if you see any thing please let me know so amendments can be made. It's based on the Modern Soul records that have become most popular in Northern Soul Dance Clubs in The United Kingdom from the mid-1960s and beyond. The term "Modern" is a contentious title as it suggests a real shelf life nonetheless we do have tracks that have outlived their Modern status but they are well and truly captured within our imagination and cult that is Northernsoul. Epic this is what I will do: I will collate a list from what has been included so far just by coping and pasting into a document. Once this is done I'll publish the list to allow any one to challenge any of the tracks. Now I know there will be a difference of opinion as to what is termed "Modern" so I will just take a rather large pinch of salt for every one and try my hardest to remember that this is not an exact science and no matter what is done the soul police will be miffed. I did toy with the idea of calling it, Modernish or Records that have been played as Modern but a sudden urge to be sensible has kicked in, nevertheless, if there are any glaring errors that can and are sensibly challenged then they will be removed. If this offends any one then I send my apologies in advance, I'm usually found at the odd Allnighter, feel free to chat to me but for fooks sake do not bore me. Now for those who are enjoying our music and who aren't too anal then lets keep em coming.

As soon as this thread gets tired and we have listed a fair whack of tunes I will copy them all to a list. Sean and Dave, we can pick out those tracks that don't fall into the "Modern" category just as long as we don't just end up with three tracks from 2010 lol, its always going to challenge the purists version of "Modern" but nevertheless we could do with a list if for nothing less than posterity. As soon as we get a list out how are we going to put them in order of popularity? Suggestions please. I remember Richard's Jazz FM program asking for votes to compile the Kev Roberts Top 500, I'll get some advise from Kev? I cant see us getting 500 but 50 or 100 will give a datum point.
