I think It's great to see the young uns getting into it.

It would be a waste if it died out with all us older bods. And it's also testament to how good the scene is (not to mention the music) to still be going strong after 40+ years.

IMO Lev has done more than anyone to promote it to the next generation.

And I also think it's healthy that the next generation have their own spin on it and do it their way, rather than just mirroring what had been done before.

I take my hat off to the girl...

    Totally agree!

  2. Really shocked when I learned on Facebook of Winnie's passing. First got to know him back in the days of KTF forum, These Old Shoes and the Brighton Sunday alldayers. Last saw him at Cleethorpes last year when we chatted and exchanged grandad experiences. Such a nice bloke and I think, fair to say, one of the most respected faces on the NS scene.

Deepest sympathies to all his family - R.I.P. Winston

thanks we have allways tried to play a good mix of atb  but most seem to want just northern

I know what you mean Lawrence! I, personally, would always prefer to hear atb but it seems a lot of the folks that go out nowadays only want to hear classic oldies and not interested in hearing anything else 😪

Same record on Wilkerr on a 12 although Butch has a very rare 7.

    Cheers Chalky

The one on Willkerr I think you are referring to is titled "Keep Me Dancing" by True image - feel free to correct me if I'm wrong . Same song but inferior to the Ike Strong version (IMHO)!

Yes I think it was Richard at last days of Wigan.  It was also a massive record for him, and others, at Clifton Hall. It was one of those modern anthems for me back then. I don’t think it’s rare but it doesn’t come up often - I don’t yhink you’ll get one for less than £200.

Youre calling out some good records Stubbsy.

    Pete

    Cheers mate

Speaking of modern anthem it reminds me a lot of Curtis "How Can I tell Her"!

Just had a look on Popsike - last genuine one went for £335 May last year. Before then varies in price so would imagine you're right about the not get one for less than £200. Strikes me that it's one of those that, although not massively expensive in the bigger scheme of things, will be a hard on to find.

Bloody hell, there's one on Popsike that is clearly described a carver and someone forked out £60 for it

Lapsley - Operator (DJ Kose's extended disco version)

Recently discovered this - 2 years late!

Great tune - white label demos only it appears. One or two now for sale on Discogs but quite expensive!
