  1. Hi Daryl, Oxo and friends, I'm really looking forward to visiting Hull, only passed by before on the way to ferries. I intend to stay a couple of days and take it all in, love northern towns and people. There is a special bond between Hill and Burnley regarding soul people. I had Mike Kemp,a Hull lad, as a resident with me at Barnoldswicks soul for 25 years. Sadly we lost Mike recently but I was able to meet up with Hull soulies when I did a little tribute to Mike at the Winter Gardens Weekender. Oxo and Annette are regulars at Burnleys lost souls monthly events and we are gob smacked at their dedication and support of our club. Likewise Steve Gainey we see a lot there, another top Hull lad. I hope I can dig something out for us to have a good dance and listen. See you soon Roman.
  2. So very pleased to have Simon Hunt and Neil Rushton with Rennie as guest djs. I was at the Wigan 50th celebration Winter Gardens last year when I heard Simon's set in the new,Tunes played after Wigan had finished, what a powerful set Simon played, the best id heard all weekend. Chance had it that the following day Simon was to follow me on the decks in the Old Vic conniseurs room, couldn't resist but ask, do you fancy a trip to Burnley Lost Souls on a Sunday afternoon for little reward, yes mate he says love to,put Neil on with me and we'll make a day of it! Hold onto your hats and skirts for this one.
  3. Welcome Jordan, I think the Lost Souls vibe will suit you.
  4. Just got the ok to drive after eye op,look forward to doing g a spot in Rammy, Ro.
  5. Traditionaly the 27th December was Barnoldswick soul night, this year it's at lost souls Burnley, having lost Mike Kemp who had done 25 years with us we thought we would learn it until next year. Should say leave it til next year.
  6. Hmm, saw Kathy Kirby, Stones,Kinks,The Who live in Nelson in the 6ts, sounds great.
  7. until

Roman here, looking forward to seeing lots of friends on the Sunday afternoon.
  8. Good line up of djs. Great little club this, always enjoy my visits here, top dancefloor.
  9. Set in the atmospheric upper room of the listed Finsley Gate Wharf with views over the straight mile of the Leeds and Liverpool canal. Restaurant below with bar, lift or steps to upper floor which always looks like it's Christmas with it's lights. Creates a warm and friendly atmosphere with northern soul and seventies from top collector djs from such as ,Winter Gardens,Tower, Lost Souls, Leeds Wardrobe, Aussie weekenders and much more, this is our last one booked so far. A special night in prospect as Fergie reprises a set of Wigan dancers that had Lost Souls on heaven, much more though with Gingers big tunes and Roman and Lodgie doing what they do best .....! £5, 8 til 12.30, fully stocked bar upstairs with offers on the night.
  10. This will be busy, Charlie Smith, Culcheth, Preston City Soul, Rishton etc with tunes like Joseph Webster and young Tom Dacey best know as Anglo American records dealer with Oxo, Steve Oxburgh from Hull completing the line up. Interest seems high for this. Check Burnleys Lost Souls on Facebook. Real Ales at great prices, Haffners pies.
  11. Hopefully our last date change, as there are more Sunday events now it's hard to avoid other does, we will stick with last Sundays and will have to likely miss bank holidays.
  12. Perfect Sundays, the company, djs with underplayed tunes, xover, beat ballads, niter sounds, the bar everyone tells me is great in choice and prices, Haffners pies a favourite too. Something a little different this time as Dave Comer puts his mind to an idea based on Tim Brown's book which features a selection of records played at the Casino from certain years and months, Dave should explain lol. We also welcome Carol Gilboy and Howard Bevan from Southport, always a measure to see them, also regular Steve Mcwilliams from Blackpool makes his debut on the decks, should be interesting from this stalwart on the scene.
  13. All rooms taken, early arrival recommended.
  14. A new venue for Ginger and Roman as they get together in Burnley again, previous venues Burnley Cricket club, Keirby Park hotel, Kestrel Suite, Burnley Mechanics with Richard Searling. The place is Finsley Gate Wharf, on the curved bank of the Leeds and Liverpool canal at the end of the straight mile. The venue has extensive outside seating, a restaurant, cottage rooms and carparks. A wonderful restored building with an old wooden dance floor in great condition. Upstairs with lift. Early arrival encouraged as early indications suggest it may be busy.
  15. Howard Whiteside joins Shane Cheesbrough and Glyn Thornhill as guest djs.
  16. 5th anniversary, we've had some cracking guests on, recent ones include Guy Hennigan, John Parker, Steve Gainey and Julian Bentley, most of our visitors are travelling, it's the music, maybe Haffners pies help. Music from xover to Rnb driven sounds anything goes with collectibles, underplayed, the whole thing. 5mns from Manchester rd.rail station.
  17. Shane Cheesborough, irrepressible live wire looks in at Lost Souls, sure to be a good day for dancing.
  18. All I will say is there will be some surprises, look forward to a first visit in 12 years (to DJ that is) liIts a great long running club just over Pendle for me.
  19. Welcome to our guest John Parker from the Blind Pig, a very across the board venue with strong xover 7ts feel. Not adverse to some hard stuff as at the Recent Guy Hennigan and Julian Bentley dayers. Club certainly getting recognition now. Check out Burnleys lost souls in Facebook.
  20. Great to have you back here Julian, always a cracker when you're djin. Martin/Sam had what appears to be a mini stroke which has affected one eye badly leading to him being unable to drive for a month. He sounded quite chipper when I spoke to him last week and we even discussed plans for him to return to lost souls. Roman.
  21. Ha, perhaps not retirement but we've not seen Sam in Burnley for some time, due to be at lost souls at the begining of lockdown this is our first opportunity to welcome him back since his legendary sets for us at the White Bull in Gisburn, should be a day to remember.
  22. Looks like last one this year as the old place gets a major makeover, the August event will be replaced by Rolls Royce Barnoldswick.
  23. Ginger and Roman been with The Muni for 25 years, great Edwardian theatre with sprung floor and balconies in use. Home of the Great British Blues Festival
  24. Burnleys Dave Comer steps in on this one, a great local collector his roots are in the old Burnley Miners club.
  25. Celebrating 25 years of soul at this splendid Edwardian venue.
