"Girl You Need A Change Of Mind" was released in the U.S. On Tamla #54230 and in the UK on Tamla Motown # 916.

There's also an unreleased version of "The Bells" by Bobby Taylor over the rhythm track of "Baby I'm For

Real" that made me feel like I was in a parallel universe the first time I heard it.

This seller has been listing the 45 on and off for at least a year. I guess no one

has taken advantage of the bargain price.

I've read that the Creation version is the same song remixed by Bobby Martin for the U.K.

I've had 4-5 copies and all of them sounded fine.

If it was released on vinyl... it wasn't legally.

I agree with you, the song works much better as a Tammi solo record.

The most "Northern" Drifters record is "You've Got To Pay Your Dues"

According to Terry Wilson's book "Tamla Motown", Dave Godin felt that since he already had the TMAS

and the Stateside releases carried the "A Tamla - Motown Production", he felt that Motown should use

that name for all U.K. releases. Berry Gordy proposed the idea to EMI who okayed the new label.

To Boba - is Bob Miner(Minor?) still around? I remember him selling records at the old Boston record show. At that time he was rather overweight and would consume a large sub or two at the table, often decked out in Cubs gear. He had a lot of good records though in his uniquely dated sleeves.

Bob Miner is still at the Record Dugout.

I like the pizza at Leona's. Would agree with you about Lou Malnatis. Wouldn't recommend Giordano's though- had one of the worst pizzas and worst service at the one near Rush- might have been an off night though.

The one that really does me in the Frankie and the Classicals "What Can I Do"- her voice is the equivalent of nails on a chalkboard for me. Also- "Moonlight Music In You" .

I've heard the grey Stax labels were pressed locally in the South. They seem to have been used more often on the earlier Stax releases.

Not trying to hijack the thread but... does anyone know anything about the artist (real name), when the record was released or where the label was based? I've never had any luck with info on this one.

The label on the album says Mary Ann Farra, the cover says Maryann Farra.

Do you have a pic you could post of the Marian Farra alternate version ??

I've had this on a demo before and the styrene used was terrible- looked minty and sounded good + . The vinyl issue sounds much better.

Mary Ann Farra had an album out with 3 Chi-Lites remakes- "You Got To Be The One", "Stoned Out Of My Mind" and of course "Living In The Footsteps Of Another Girl".

Jackie Lee made "The Duck", the Willie Hutch "The Duck" is a completely different song.

The flip side is "When Love Runs Out" .

Richard Temple did make "That Beatin' Rhythm" which was a vocal to "Cigarette

Ashes" by Jimmy Conwell.

I live in the U.S. and I have only seen that sleeve once. I don't know if it was only made in certain parts of the States. The red sleeve is far more common.

But... they did put it on the front cover of "Complete Motown Singles- 1965" from Hip-O so it was used at some point.

The only U.S. release was on the "Chameleon" album on Mowest.

"These Things ..." never came out on V.I.P. . I believe you're thinking about "A Bird In the Hand..." which originally was on V.I.P. #25021 and was probably

withdrawn and re-released as V.I.P. #25030.
