Bazm Members May 10May 10 (edited) As we head towards what could be a blistering summer and after our fantastic two-room GRUMPY event earlier this month, our focus turns to the next night at what is fast becoming one of THE places on the NORTH WEST rare soul map, CULCHETH! No ‘horses’ are being spared as we’ve listened to all the folks who said ‘Can’t you bring the rare 60’s and 70’s tunes together in one room?’ Well, yes we can and yes, we have…So JUNE 7th we bring you two of the UK’s best and most respected DJ’s, two, who can seamlessly thread a set featuring MONSTER 60’s and INCREDIBLE rare 70’s packing dancefloors wherever they go…Ladies and Gents, we give you NOTTINGHAM’s favourite son MICK H and the WREXHAM WIZZARD, SOUL SAM! MICK and SAM will be supported by the CULCHETH main room team of SIMON INGHAM, MICK HOWARD and BAZ MALEEDY, so expect something VERY SPECIAL as we bring you a SUMMER SOUL SPECTACULAR this JUNE at CULCHETH!... Soul Sam has played this one in the Culcheth Modern Room to a packed dancefloor. It's always a treat to hear this played out loud.

Jessie Pinkman Members May 26May 26 (edited) I remember quite a few years ago I did the rare room at Keele and I thought I'd done okay until Cliff Steele and then Mick H came on.☹️Thankfully I was sitting with Mick Howard when they came on and the conversation was something like what's this Mick, Charlene & the Soul Serenaders he told meMick what's this, The Limitations "I'm lonely I'm troubled" was his reply. Mick what's this, The Superbs "Wind in my sails" 😜I think was a Butch play from a few years earlier. I'm not sure if Mick H is still playing it but here it is. Edited May 26May 26 by Jessie Pinkman

Jessie Pinkman Members Yesterday at 10:171 day (edited) As well as all these rare un's from the two guests, you can expect to hear brilliant cheaper stuff as well, like this Solomon Burke 7"Si Two Sheds played it last time and it went down well, I complimented him on his choice of version of this tune, so he gave me one of his spares.Apparently he's been buying every different coloured label variant of this record hoping for a Yellow one, but I don't think they released one in that colour, but don't tell him.😄 Edited yesterday at 11:241 day by Jessie Pinkman

Jessie Pinkman Members 1 hour ago1 hr Back in the day when Johnny Praye was still covered up as J.J Jackson I remember Mick Howard playing this at Bury but he wouldn't let us in on the true identity.Nowadays Simon might give it a spin if I ask him nicely.I think Andy Dyson discovered it but never got to play it at the Ritz Rarest of the rare cos he was beaten to it by an earlier DJ. Naughty or what.🤫
