Hello

a lot of you have probably heard or came accross our online modernist archives Jack That Cat Was Clean (if not please check it out)

https://jackthatcatwasclean.blogspot.com/

we are always on the look for new contributions and stories , but we are also interested to buy your

unwanted memorabilia that might be hidden in boxes in your attic, garage, ....

(if you do not want to sell anything, scans are also welcome) .

what are we exactly looking for :

private snapshots taken during the original modernist/RnB period .

original membership cards / tickets / flyers / handbills / posters/ ...from The Scene Club, Flamingo Club, King Mojo Club, Twisted Wheel, La Poubelle, Ricky Tick , Dungeon, La Discotheque or any other relevant mod /RnB clubs/hangouts ...

anything related to Guy Stevens (Pye International, Sue records and Scene club period) : reviews in Jazz Beat magazine, interviews, photographs, playlists, ....

same as above but concerning Roger Eagle (Twisted Wheel days) .

Island, Blue Beat, Pye International R&B series, Chess, Sue records, ... sale sheets, promotional posters, handbills, ...

but also material related to UK bands : Georgie Fame and the blue flames, zoot money's big roll band, geno washington and the ram jam band, jimmy james and the vagabonds (pete meaden / early days), alan bown set, soul agents, ronnie jones / herbie goins nighttimers, ....

Reday Steady go passes, flyers, ...(no books/annuals needed)

etc etc ....

thanking you in advance

Hi there Thierry! we've got eigth numbers of JAZZ BEAT mag from April 1964 (issue 4) to January 1965 (issue 13). All of them come with an R&B supplement run by Guy Stevens. Just uploaded a few examples in International R&Booze Squad Facebook:

Just give us a shout if you wish more scans you don't already have.

they are Brilliant, did see them on there .

have tons of new material for the site : pictures taken outside the Scene club, La Discotheque, Beardy Pegley ,... we need to scan and type a lot of articles , but again a lack of time . We will try to put at least two new articles each month .

I'm also in touch with a photograph who did many shots and followed the evolution of the London mods in London in '63 -'65 .
