When the majority of our music ,the one off's ,the working on the car line in the week and putting out you own record kinda thing never to be heard of again' untill some spotty faced kid from the uk finds it in a junk shop or on the dock side used as ballast,and turns it in to the biggist record on our scene ,Well what market did they make it for ? You would assume they wanted a hit pop record ,to go on to become the next sam cook or marvin. so who was it ment for ?

It was meant for the locals, friends, family, jukebox joints, music halls etc in the regions where these young folks resided...espicially with the limited press runs some of these labels did!!! And maybe, just maybe with some pinch of magic YES they could become the next Diana, Marvin, Smokey etc. Naive teens with big dreams! Talented none the less.

Today you can make a CD recording fairly easy as millions of amateurs are doing this as I type, not to say cutting a 45 was an easy task or is, but the opportunity was available thru some local studio who had links to a pressing plant & some young wanabee "Berry" hustler type who was eager to manage a gorgeous young local lass or handsome fellow ... blah blah you get the drift.

So I guess the market would have originally been regional or city soul loving folks, not spotty U.K. kids.
