Sammy Davis, Jr. - You Can Count on Me

Is it true that this was available via mail order and when received it was an LP 33rpm cut down?

Also was there a bit of a fiddle with lists and a lucky bag of records being sent with the small print stating that if the records where not available alternatives would be sent?
