As a rule i don't generally sell records from my collection, but i've bought quite a few things of late, so decided to dig out things i never play (thinking i may sell), well i got this out of a box, and thought it isn't really my cup of tea, then played it. Jesus, it's brilliant, that smouldering tempo and Baker just purrs then belts it out. It just goes to show, you should occasionally re-visit records you own and give them an airing, i'm sure (if you don't know it) there must be a clip on here somewhere, i painstakingly recorded around 2000 of my favourite vinyls to cd then (just for this reason) put them in my Itunes, and this isn't on there ! Mind there isn't a lot of 60's on my ipod.

Get re-visiting....it's good for the soul.yes.gif

it's a TUNE. I heard it played out for the first time in ages at a nighter about a month or six weeks ago, it's been on and off the turntable ever since

The same thing happened with Martha Star, no part time love, two great female belters

Absolutely one of my favorite tunes from the Stafford era, covered up as Betty LaVette and The Big Wheels. Played by the mighty Jim Wensiora and Keb

top tune indeed thumbup.gif

if you look at the writing credits on this, this is clearly the same joan baker that had the record as joan baker and the belgianettes on ember. She was not a member of the belgianettes (at least on okeh) though.
