January 7, 201015 yr Z.Z. Hill - Put A Little Love In Your Heart Rare Bullet label...1984 Nice one on this Barry. I also like his version of Lonnie Ray's - Just As I Am, which is on the same LP even though they all sound like they've been recorded in a toilet. Blues Critic says that they're vocals from 72/73 overlayed with backing from 83/84. Its still got the classic Swamp Dogg all over it though.
January 10, 201015 yr Hi Barry! Great show as always, and these in particular stood out for me this time: Dusty Springfield - All The King's Horses George Jackson - If You Never See Me Bester Singers of Slidell, LA - I'd Like To Recommend You To The Lord Corey Glover - Hot Buttered Soul Music City Gospelaires - Step By Step Earl Gaines - The Best Of Luck To You Southern Jubilee - Time Has Made A Change James & Bobby Purify - A Change Is Gonna Come Odia Coates - Don't Leave Me In The Morning Sad to learn about the passing of Earl Gaines, wasn´t aware, always been a great fan of his. What are the details for the Bester Singers recording please, really liked that one, and would like to know where it´s from please! Another "stupid" question...LOL...when you write "unissued", does that always mean that the track is still unissued or that it´s "previously unissued", in other words "unissued at the time of recording, but now commercially available"? Best regards Melismo
January 11, 201015 yr Hi Mel..... As you can imagine..I get a whole load of CD's from allover. I recently found the Bester Singers...but as I said on the show...no idea what label or year...agree with you..a very good track Usually I mean...'previously unissued'......The George Jackson , for instance, has just been issued on Soulscape...but for the first time... Regards Barry
