Gil_Bernal.mp3

couldnt find much on the net about this allthough it was compt'd on that great series cd " STOMPIN' vol .22 " which has some notes about it in the booklet.

Gil Bernal was a session musician in the 50's and played tenor sax for the Robins/ Coasrters before King Curtis took over .

He had only a few releases in his own name on Spark and RCA in mid 50's

At 19 he was playing tenor sax in Lionel Hampton Orch ., and sang on a few tracks for him

In addition to playing with the Coasters Bernals main claim to Rock n Roll fame is his tenor work on Duane Eddy's original " Rebel Rouser " in 1958

Until recently this was an un-documented release from this artist .

Thanks for looking
