Can't remember if we actually went to this one but about half a dozen of us used to regularly travel from N. Derbyshire to Cleethorpes on a sunday. They were top doos all round.

Chris (Dalton) was (and still is) one of the most under-rated oldies DJ's around; Johnny Manship played some top stuff at the time and Poke was well ahead; Also under-rated was Rick Scott - still around and was playing modern and new release stuff at a doo near Brigg until a year or so ago. Sam was as mad as he is now - espousing Charlie Gracie's 'He'll never...' and Paul Anka's 'When we get there' as the way forward. Bub - legendary!!!

Can't remember the exact, but it evolved into a two room affair at the Winter Gardens run by Mary Chapman - upstairs playing new release soul and Jazz-Funk. Also sold ale which was a bonus in them dry days of yore.

Arguably 'the world's best all-dayer'.

Scotty

ps. is Bub's brother Derek still around???
