am i right in thinking that anything that comes out on the kent select label has not seen the light of day before in any way shape or form?

No it usually is but not 100 % strict, it could have been on acetate or a Kent promo only or sneaked out on a re-released LP like Charlie Rich (legally) or Spencer Wiggins (illegally). In the case of Jesse Davis I think it's just the instrumental side though the vocal could be a bit longer.
