Soul Foundation, Velvet Cocktail Bar, Queen St. Wakefield - 15th April
Following on from its successful launch in March, the second monthly instalment of Soul Foundation was an even livelier affair, with about 130 people through the door in total.
The crowd are mainly 'non-scene' people but so far have been very enthusiastic and supportive of the music played. The music policy is fairly broad but the crowd seem to go for uptempo 60s soul, funkier 70, and perhaps surprisingly, Rnb/popcorn. Besides yours truly, the night has featured a guest DJ each month and I intend to continue with that policy.
Here's my play lists, in no particular order and not exhaustive, but it gives you a feel of what the night is about.
Next one 20th May - 10 'til late. Admission free.
