...just bought a copy ..played it..sounds very bassy..so checked against the CD version..totally different..is my copy duff? are all copies like this? changed decks, reduced bass..still far too bassy..lyrics sound muffled..whats the verdict?? thanks for looking..

You told me my MINT copy of Honey Townsend was unplayable (I sold it soon as I got it back and apparently it was mint after all) so I reckon it's your deck, it's haunted!

cd's off the master tapes are always going to sound different to the original 45's, I find they're often more tinny sounding

yep i take your point..but this sounds really bassy, cond looks ok..i had a copy back in the day but cant remember what it played/sounded like..the Brenda lee jones i got off you plays fantastic by comparison..just wondered if anyone else's copy sounded similar to mine..
