Need some expert info if anyone has it ........

I know a few tracks by this latin artist

examples include

FUN CITY SHINGALING - CESTA 508 A

MELINA - CESTA 509

but ive just come across another on cesta that i didnt know before , and couldnt find any information on it anywhere !

Joe quijano - chevere / listen louie - cesta ce 521

am really interested to hear this 45 , particularly as its produced by ray rivera , any info on it would be great !

Chevere's a great latin instrumental, with a touch of funkiness. Can't remember the B-side, but it's not the same a the PS 64 Schoolyard single of the same(ish) name.

Cheers , i just got a pm saying it was comped on a cd called swinging latin 60s ! i think this is the most popular side , but the side im more interested in is the b side , its produced by ray rivera so im thinking it could be an underplayed party track ! could turn out to be rubbish though .... the search goes on ...

That was Joe's own comp. Distributed in Peurto Rico and maybe New York and Miami, not much further than that though! I'd like to think that if it was any good I'd have spotted it, but I'm not sure that is true, so I'll dig it out this evening.

He did an excellent LP on MGM in 1965 called "Fiddler on the roof goes latin" (which is funky latin versions of tracks from the musical "Fiddler on the roof"!). Strange idea, but it's works.
