Top-drawer male vocal group harmony woven into a primitive brass propelled production that compliments the rasping lead vocal and the squawking girl group back-up.
In the true tradition of pure Northern Soul there is not a commercial note in the whole session. Attitude driven lead, unhinged ladies softened by a masterly male bass vocal adding an occasional but impressive word or two.
Flip it for a sublime group-harmony soulful ballad.
Truly fabulous in it's primitiveness, RARE in the extreme and this copy is in impeccable flaw free Condition.

Bobby Thurston
Sweetest Slice Of The Pie
Is this 1978 Washington, D. C. indie just the very greatest 70s dance SOULalbum ever made?
A click of the soundfile will unleash "Just Ask Me" + "Treat Me The Same Way" - Soul-Boy-Life does not get any better than these tracks booming at'cha; that's only two of the 9 wonderful tracks this album holds.
For an independent production the quality of work is truly miraculous crafting to the nth degree. Ticking every box of the Rare-Soul-Fans taste-wish-list. Whilst you're enjoying the recording, please note this copy still retains most-all of it's original shrink wrap, even sports the little plastic pocket on the back cover.
It's a beautiful example of yes - IMHO the finest indie 70s Soul LPeven produced.

Four Sights
Love Is A Hurting Game - That I Can't Win C/w The Dreamer
The Temptations could well have been te inspiration behind this Miles Grayson 1967 Los Angeles rarity. As the lead "Ruffinesque" voice leads the way on the rasping vocal-group Northern Soul rarity.
Seldom seen for sale after it's initial discovery circa 1977, other than that handful I know of no other time this 45 have been unearthed in this near perfect condition.
Validated in it's extreme rarity, it's quality underlined by a flipside nearly every note as good. This Jerry Flannagan project resisted opportunity for a smooth vocal group experience, to serve up a racking, grinding dancer of the purest kind.
So far this 45 has only enjoyed brief flirtations with late Wigan Casino &Stafford's Top Of The World. Today a revival spin or two, and the current underground demand could explode into something far, far bigger.
In 2012 rare vocal group records of this quality in this sublime condition are worth more than their weight in gold!

Bobby Taylor And The Vancouvers
Does Your Mama Know About Me C/w Fading Away
Previously called Four Niggers & A Chink, Bobby wisely renamed his group for this impressive Motown Debut.
This 1968 release is certainly one of the most elusive British TMG 600 series 45s as a stock copy! As a DEMO it is ridiculously tough to capture.
Late 70s video fans will remember the hilarious Cheech & Gongs - Up In Smoke - has the haphazard couple made a mess from everything they attempted. So it's hard to believe that 10 years earlier Tommy Gong was co-writing this most-beautiful of Motown songs as The Vancouver's aid Bobby Taylor with their Temptations inspired recordings.
Both sides are top-drawer male vocal-group harmony statements, with "Does Your Mama.." achieving cult-status years after it's failed UK launch.
This example the condition could hardly be finer - listen to the double sound file of precise Motown soul.
