I was thinking of trying to do one, but have a few questions. How long [duration] can each pod cast be? Do they download in real time? Any useful advice?

Thanks in advance.

A podcast can be as long as you want it to be. Ones done via radio shows are generally two hours, but if you're just going to do a podcast of music or a standalone podcast, then you might want to do it so it'll fit on a CD for people to play in the car.

Podcasts can either be downloaded as an mp3 or they can be streamed in real time depending on where you upload it to.

I do all my podcasts on https://www.podomatic.com - when you start out it's free and you get a certain amount of storage/download bandwidth, but if/when it gets popular you'll find that won't be enough so there's options to go 'Pro' and pay for the privilege, which works out about $15 a month, which isn't too bad. Worth checking out I'd say.

Cheers

Roger
