Recently refound this in the cupboard! Brillian mid temo soulful record.

But lyrics a bit dodgy.

"I know, I know,I know, I know, I know,I know, you know that I know & I'm telling y'all that I know.

Do you know what life is all about....."

Beat that!

Still think Big Daddy Rodgers is hard to beat " Gonna take you to the wood shed and drop a couple of planks on you "

In "Girl I Love You" by The Temptones, does he really sing "At first I thought she was a lavatory seat"???

From one on up to ninety-two,

if satisfaction is your hearts desire,

you can bet I'm going to give it to you

Dr Truelove.

Ha ha I was going to say that one from Dr Truelove! 1 up to 92?? there's at least 45 odd years of that age range that leaves you looking seriously perverted!

One of my favourites is 'For crying out loud' by Bunny Sigler. Apart from the line 'I used to be happy so ginger and snappy', which is quite remarkable in itself, the whole thing's a bit dodgy:

He starts with the old 'I once was a clown...my cheers turned to tears...etc' and all the usual clown metaphors that you get to mean you were once happy and now you're broken hearted and lost your happy outlook, a la 'tears of clown'...

but then when he gets to the line 'see that girl on the flying trapeze, hey hey hey, she used to belong to me', you start to think: 'hang on, this is no metaphor, this fucker actually was a clown, and his bird really was the trapeze artist!'.

So it's either an extremely elaborate metaphor, or it's the best damn proffessional-clown related song ever.

"ONCE I STOPPED TO WATCH A TREE GROW"

Cajun Hart- "Got To Find A Way"-WARNER BROS RECORDS

"WHEN SHE WALKS DOWN THE STREET, THE BOYS ALL GIVE A WHISTLE,

THEY SEEMED TO KNOW, THAT SHE`S AGLOW-LIKE AN ATOMIC MISSLE"

Rod Keith-"Gloria"-PREVIEW RECORDS

(Alternative version of "Like The Lord Said"..same backing track- different lyrics.) In fact most of the lyrics on this are a bit strange to say the least.

Yep thats a goodie. On a par with Wynonie Harris - Loving Machine -

Song is litterally about a bloke who builds a loving machine in his house. "You put a nickel in the slot.." etc etc

Does what it says on the can

From one on up to ninety-two,

if satisfaction is your hearts desire,

you can bet I'm going to give it to you

Dr Truelove.

Betty Lou: "I am not a baby...doctor!"

Bobby: "I don`t care how old you are..."

:thumbsup::yes::yes:laugh.gif:D

The Goodies 'Condition Red'

The whole song is a Leader of the Pack story, parents hate biker boyfriend stuff.

It ends with

"Don't go away mad, don't go away mad

The Car!!! Watch out for the car!!"

"Oh nooo"

Then sound of funereal organ ends it.....

Always makes me cringe :D
