April 20, 200619 yr Very sad news. We are publishers of some of the songs James Dean wrote with John Glover, including "I'll Get Off At The Next Stop" and "Sad Girl" by Carol Anderson for example. James was a great writer and will be remembered most for the songs he wrote (mostly with William Weatherspoon) for Jimmy Ruffin, Edwin Starr, Marv Johnson, The Dramatics, The Dells etc. Paul Mooney www.millbrand.com What Becomes Of The Broken Hearted If My Heart Could Tell The Story I've Passed This Way Before I'll Pick A Rose For My Rose Farewell Is A Lonely Sound I'll Say Forever My Love It's Wonderful (To Be Loved By You) Keep On Loving Me Let's Go Somewhere Gonna Keep On Trying Till I Win Your Love Who Cares If You're Happy Or Not (I Do) Highway To Heaven My Pretending Days Are Over You Don't Have To Be A Star
April 20, 200619 yr Just back from a business trip to Detroit, where the local papers were dominated by the death of the rapper Proof. Whilst there I went to the Fox Theater to see O'Jays, Tempts and Bobby Womack. Good show. At the height of the Tempts set, Levi Stubbs of the Four Tops was brought on to stage in a wheel chair. Levi has had a stroke and looked very old and tired and clearly had no idea what was happening around him. Really sad to see a legend in such a state.
