I have an EX copy of this fantastic & rare double-sider. Haven't heard any mention of it on these forums previously and know that the record is in demand with sweet soul collectors for the 'As Long As You're Near Me' side - which is a great track.
Flip it over and you have something spot on for the dancefloor, an uptempo cover of a northern classic, 'Get Ready' has a storming backing band with falsetto harmonies that reminds me of the Hopkins Bros. Haven't heard this played by anyone else so far and is on the same label as some other elusive 45s including the Jay Griffin 'Lucky Me'.
Have a listen & see what you think, actual copy in Youtube videos...
