I don't know which version the album version is but there are 2 versions without girlie backing...SOS 217671 & Golden Triangle 101

The girlie backed version is SOS 5002

My oh my, why did the Americans have to do so many releases of the same tunes, makes you laugh

Sound of Soul Demo has the girl backin vocals stock copy does,nt 

Golden Triangle which is a later issue than the SOS has,nt got the girl backing

That girlie backing spoils a bloody great record, glad to see he wants a copy without it!

 

I'm sure I'm gonna get shot down for this, but heyho.....  the lack of girlie backing on the  better version of 'love slipped through my fingers' also makes that record just about bearable too.
