The 'Straight from the playbox' series curated by Kieran Lockyear, continues to go from strength to strength.....and here's my second contribution to the series. Something different to the first mix, venturing into crossover soul territory.....here's ten from the other side of my playbox, including a whole bunch of 45's played at the excellent Soul Togetherness Weekender 2014 in Chicago!

The Gospel Harmatones 'Last one in the church house'
The Voices of Nashville 'Tell God'
Bobby Baker 'Everything has got be all right'
Howard Sisters & Co. 'Always'
The Johnson Family Gospel Singers 'Imitations'
United Sounds 'It’s all over (baby)'
Tones of Joy 'Seeking for God'
The Alston Brothers 'When all God’s children will be going home'
Rev. O.C. Sandidge & Rapture 'This train'
Moton Records, Inc. 'It’s a beautiful world'
