Funk++++++

The Outfit - Stop The World/Use Me (Wirl ) M- £30
Yet another on the ever productive Wirl imprint: 'Use Me' is a decent cover of the Bill Withers tune, 'Stop the World' is a good dark and moody down tempo cut.
Hear

Wildflower - Wind It Up, Turn It Loose/Sugar Baby (Dash) E- £30
The fourth and final Wildflower offering on Dash by Wildflower. Two decent sides. Their best.

I.N.D - Just You Be You/I'm Not Ready (Momisey) M- £25
I.N.D put out an album in 1981 on Erect Records which included 'Just You Be You' but not the lilting flip side. Ready for a re-discovery this one.
Hear

Curtis Wiggins - Stand Up When I Talk To You/Can't Buy Love With Money (Palm) EX £40
Men's rights funk cut that pretty much tells her how it is, how it's gonna be and how it should be.
Hear

Modern/70s+++++++

Barbara Stant - My Mind Holds Onto Yesterday/He's Still Your Man  (Shiptown) EX £225
100% original killer from Ms Stant. My fave by her.

Hear

Courtial with Errol Knowles - Losing You/Don't You Think It's Time (Pipeline) M- £175

Palmer James - Love Me Part 1/Love Me Part 2 (Get Down) VG+ £25
Minimal, raunchy groover. Obscure one.

Korla with Klass - Stop Before You Start/No Other Woman (Music Master) E- £100
One time very big money modern and a version of the Arlene Bell on Velvet
Hear

Northern/R&B and a weird Latin disco ender++++++

The Chaumonts - I Need Your Love/Love Is The Thing (Bay Sound) EX £75
Straight up northern stuff on the top side backed with a slightly darker flip. £150 on Manship's site.
Hear

Claude Huey - Why Would You Blow It/Why Did Our Love Go (Galaxy) EX £175
Faultless and classy northern at the funkier end. So. Damn. Good.
Hear

Freddie Watson - The Unlucky Seven/It's All Over Now (Eloys) M- £20
Really good funky soul effort that probably gets overlooked but give it a spin: listenig again to this having forgotten what it sounded like I looke dover at the decks and thought 'ooh, this is a good tough sounding funky soul tune, what is it, again…? Oh, this! Nice!"

Fabulous Pawns  - One More Heartache/Monkey Time (IGL) M- £25
Good garage version of the Smokey tune backed with a try at Major lance's 'Monkey Time'. Decent record.
Hear

Anamia - Besame Mucho/Quizas, Quizas, Quizas (WS Latino) EX £20
Seen the LP from where this curious slab of Mexican disco originates up for $220 online! Wow. Check it and see if it's your thing.
