The Constellations have become such an iconic group on our scene but I can't recall ever seeing a  photo of the guys.   Until now,

It was so good then to have stumbled on to this great Soul Sauce column in Billboard Magazine 1  June 1968 with a  photo of the group and their record 
"I Didn't Know How To" on Gemini Star nominated as Billboard best new record of the week !

Also some other interesting bits in the article:  Lou Rawls jumping on stage at Aretha's gig in London and doing an impromptu  20 minutes of "Respect" with Aretha.

And Johnny Gilliam starting an East Coast promotion  tour for his first Kent release ...  it also mentions that he was The Marvelettes musical director and guitarist since 1964 !!!
