Hello Everyone,

I'm a new member so i'm not sure if this is the right place to post or not but I wanted to see if anyone had any info about the label Ebonite, from what I gather it was a subsidiary of President Records. I found a copy of this record the other day.

It's from their Jazz Series and from what it seems like in discogs it's the only records in the Jazz Series. If anyone has info about this or the Ebonite label in general i'd be really interested in learning about it, it seems like they have some interesting releases. Please let me know. thanks!

Ebonite was a library label. They catered music for TV/radio/film purposes like KPM, DeWolfe, Chappell, etc. Most of their releases are covers/rip-offs of popular jazz/soul/funk/disco tunes replayed by session musicians. Some of the early releases are popular amongst the rare groove collectors.

Thanks so much for the info. I had a feeling it was some sort of Library Label. This record just piqued my interested because I had never heard of Ebonite or this record. I listened to it, it pretty funky. I think i'm gonna hold on to it, plus I have no idea what it's worth.
