Enjoyables – Shame – Shrine 118 M- £1250
(Gazing into any sky blue Shrine label with its epitaph to JFK is just a part of the hypnotic sensation that I associate with this short lived but enigmatic Thomas Circle set up. The job that Eddie and Miss Ray, Warren, Kidd and Bass amongst others did to create this magical collective of talent and musical output is inspiring, and against a backdrop of political, social and business pressure - remarkable. I gave up my pristine Les Chansonettes and first Cautions years ago, stupidly overlooked Eddie Daye several times, missed out on Shirley Edwards and DC Blossoms for a few dollars when the pound was strong. Might be letting this go, but still in that trance!)
