(Stunning double sider from one of the biggest artists on the scene, crossover gem backed with a superb funk edge)
Crystals featuring La La Brooks – I got a man / Are you trying to get rid of me baby – United Artists 994 M- £400
(Fabulous double sider, and there’s a bit of menace on both sides from this normally passive Spector outfit. I remember having to work hard to sell a demo 10 years ago, how times have changed with the demo flying out for 275-300. So what for a rare as hen’s teeth black stock copy, virtually unheard of? Don’t worry about the label scans, they show up all the white bits under intense light, to the naked eye the labels are gorgeous and it plays smooth as silk.
Rex Garvin & Mighty Cravers – You don’t need no help – WSJ 103 Ex+ £150 SOLD
(From what I can work out this was played by Mr Searling at Wigan, remained hard to find in original Bell Sound stamped ever since, doesn’t often come to the market place and when it does, not in such great condition, marked down from M- due to a couple of very minor lines, but plays M-)
