Crossover – Justice Dept and Dale Darby, LA rarities utilizing the same backing track. Two superb ones on Volt Records – Roz Ryan and Newcomers “Open up your heart”. Bonnevilles killer double header “Play it cool” b/w “I’ll be right there”. Fifth Avenue Band “One way or another”, Festivals “You’ve got the makings of a lover” and many more.
Modern Soul – rarities in the form of Village Choir “Sweet hot lips”/”Along the beach” (vinyl, purple label versions), Lamar & Belinda Dunn, Billy P. Hughes on Charli-Barbara. But the real strength here is in musical quality, solid cheapies from Dede Warwick, Touch of Class, Smoke, Wales Wallace etc etc.
Deep/Sweet/Group – Some real nice 45’s here too. Webs super indemand “It’s so hard to break a habit”, Soul Pushers, Mandells “All or nothing”, Exit “The little green monster” plus a row of cheaper but equally good ones.

Eddie Parker – Body chains – Prodigal / VG+ / £60 (White demo of this powerful crossover soul dancer. Another winner from the “I’m gone” man. Vinyl has a few light marks. Same song on both sides, one plays with a few pops etc the other one more or less clean.)
Tammi Terrell / Brenda Holloway – All I do is think about you – Tamla / EX / £60 (Highly sought after unofficial release of these stunning versions of the song later made famous by the Stevie Wonder. Nice white demo Tamla design like on the copy of the first youtube video, and superb sound quality. 500 copies limited run that since long dried out. Has sold on Discogs for a lot more.)

Shock – Footsteps across your mind / Why should I forgive you – Sirocco / EX / £25 (Classic double header, crossover backed with sweet soul. Both sides are awesome. Green label vinyl variation here, very clean copy too.)
Newcomers – Open up your heart / Girl, this boy loves you – Volt / VG / £25 (Current indemander. Vinyl has light marks, “Open up…” side plays well, flip with a little crackle in the intro.)

Love Potion – This love – Kapp / VG+ / £50 (Total classic! Same as Joy-Tones of course. Vinyl just shy of EX with a few light marks not affecting play.)
Della Humphrey – Don’t make the good girls go bad / Your love is all I need – Arctic / EX / £50 (Two slabs of high quality Philly soul. Killer lowrider type of slowie. Flip is slightly more gritty but also good. Well hard 45 to find in clean condition.)
Equations – Oh you sweet darling / Have faith – All Platinum / EX / £45 (Their first, rarer and better 45 on the label. Nice clean copy, usually seen beat up.)

Sex O’Clock – You’re my man – Prelude / EX / £12 (Slow grinding disco in the Johnny Bristol/Barry white tradition. Comes in generic black/red text Prelude company sleeve.)
Five Stairsteps – s/t – Windy C / EX/EX / £45 (Usually not a fan of kiddie soul but this 60’s soul album is solid listening throughout. We can problably blame Curtis Mayfield for that. Personal standouts in “World of fantasy”, “Don’t waste your time” and “Behind the curtains” but again the whole LP is good. DJ stamp on back cover.)
John Minnis’ Big Bone Band – s/t – John Minnis / EX / £40 (Reissue of very rare original, often sold as original. The version of “I want your love” her is so much better than the 45 version.)
Bobby Wilson – I’ll be your rainbow – Buddah / EX/EX / £25 (With “Deeper and deeper” and the killer modern soul dancer “Don’t shut me out” which is LP only. Nice and fresh copy, only flaw is a tiny cut out saw mark.)
Luther – This close to you – Cotillion / EX/EX / £20 (The classic second album. Cut out saw mark. “Don’t wanna be your fool” and “Follow my love” is the standouts but the whole album is pleasurable listening throughout.)
Richard Stepp – Holiday in Hollywood – Infinity / EX/EX / £20 (With the excellent blue eyed modern soul dancer “Caught up in a whirlwind”. Feel good deluxe! Tiny cut out saw mark. Company gold stamp on front cover.)
Love Unlimited – Love is back – Unlimited Gold / EX/EX / £6 (White label promo copy of this killer LP. Personal standouts being the two stepper “If you want me, say it” and the smooth disco classic “Hip steppin’ hip dressin’ fella”. Not for sale gold promo stamp on back.)
