Hello and welcome to yet another sales list. Another shorter one but I should be back with a more meaty one for September. Until then wrap your eyes on this one which features some real nice and some seldom seen titles! 45’s first and a few albums towards the end.
PM to reserve. All records are on a first come, first serve basis. I don’t mind holding records for a few days if you need more time for payment but just let me know first if that’s the case.
For paypal payments please make sure both currency fields are GBP, I don’t want to receive payments in SEK nor in USD. And for orders over £150 please send payment as gift or add 4% to cover fees.
Best Regards, Karl
Northern Soul, Crossover & Funk 45’s
Nolan Chance – Just like the weather / Don’t use me – Constellation / EX / £300 (NS evergreen! Such a beauty, and with an overlooked R&B flavored flipside. Straight lined Constellation logo copy.)
Cruisers – Mink and sable mable / Picture us – Gamble / EX / £100 (White promo copy of this highly indemand Philly crossover 45. Very hard to find too, especially clean like this. Flip is a very nice group harmony.)
Tomorrow’s Men – Who’s that lady / It’s real – Congress / EX / £100 (Two great crossover sides, one dancer and one midtempo. Nice clean promo copy complete with company sleeve. Label has date stamp.)
Exceptional Three feat Ruby Carter – What about me? / Un Lucky Girl – Way out / EX / £80 (Killer group ballad backed with a group version of the Betty Everett song. Hard to find in this clean condition and on first press.)
Ethics – I want my baby back – Vent / EX / £60 (Classic Philly feel good dancer. Small tear on label and a hint of ring wear. Vinyl is clean apart from a cosmetic issue – a millimeter deep edge chip that is far far from touching the grooves, and makes no problem cueing it up either.)
Carol Anderson – Master plan (I love you I do) – Explosion / EX / £60 (One of her rarest 45’s especially in clean condition like this. Song duration has been written with felt pen.)
Walter Jackson – Let me come back – Brunswick / VG+ / £50 (Classic Chicago crossover and an fantastic atmospheric club sound. Record has a few light marks, there’s a couple of very slight crackles but it plays great overall.)
Deon Jackson – That’s what you do to me / I can’t do without you – Carla / EX / £40 (Catchy and lovely NS classic with a somewhat overlooked flip. Silver text, Atco distributed vinyl copy complete with company sleeve. Label has a pen line on the TWYDTM side.)
T.W. Bankston – You are the icing on my cake – Straight Up / EX/VG+ / £150 (Clean original of this fantastic two stepper. One of the best. Picture sleeve looks great and is in nice condition but has a crease in the middle.)
G.C. Cameron – Live for love – Flamingo / EX / £110 (UK only release, killer modern soul dancer. Promo copy that comes in a very cool looking stamped promo sleeve.)
Melvin Davis – You made me over – Invictus / EX / £50 (DJ friendly vinyl DJ radio station copy of this evergreen modern soul masterpiece. Needs to be heard loud at a club to be fully understood.)
Natural Impulse – We’re gonna make it through – Soul Junction / EX / £25 (Previously unreleased feel good modern soul dancer from the “She went away” group. Out of print and indemand 2010 release.)
Si-Berians – This is the ending of our love / Crying baby won’t help the hurt – Ricardo / VG+ / £225 (Legendary Chicago sweet/group soul double header. Nice well playing copy but label has writing and there’s a couple of inaudible scuffs on the B-side.)
Day-Tons – I’ve got to tell you about it – Day-Tons / VG+ / £175 (Their rarer, better and more sought after 45. Killer sweet soul! Some minor marks not affecting play except two pops on part two side.)
New Experience – It doesn’t seem so long ago – Ariola America / EX / £50 (Stunning issue only sweet soul. Nice clean copy complete with company sleeve.)
Mike Kirkland – Doin’ it right – Bryan / EX/VG+ / £225 (The as classic follow up and also a superb LP. Includes “You put it on my mind” and is a solid album throughout. Cover is a solid VG+ with just a hint of ring wear and a little wear on the edges.)
Popcorn Wylie – Extrasensory perception – Abc / EX/VG+ / £45 (Very nice 1974 album produced by Lamont Dozier on his prime. “How did I lose you” plus “Lost time” is the standouts for me here. Sleeve is clean but has cut corner plus two small cut out holes.)
Frank Dell – Yesterday’s people – Guinness / EX/EX / £45 (Another one of the rare and good Guinness titles. With “He broke your game wide open” which sounds slightly different to the 45 version if my ears does not deceive me. Lovely copy still in shrink. Cut corner.)
Right Track – Destination unlimited – True Soul / EX/VG+ / £45 (With the fantastic slowie “Baby I love you” which comes highly recommended. Also other nice tracks such as “Bring it home to me” and a cover of “Wishing on a star”. LP has a warp, plays without problem. Cover still in shrink but has been exposed to water and top is a bit wavery.)
