Sidney Barnes – You’ll always be in style – Red Bird 10039 WD Ex+ £150
Sid’s the man, fantastic up-tempo dancer, and one of only a handful of really true soul releases from the Leiber and Stollers stable, which comprised of a large catalogue, the majority were girl group and pop tunes across mainly Red Bird, but also Blue Cat, Daisy and Tiger.
Still to this day I’ve never seen evidence of his purported “I hurt on the other side” release on Red Bird versus the known Blue Cat issue. Mr Manship once told me he’d seen one or a picture of one in the hands of someone in Oz. Also never seen a Blue Cat stocker of the tune either………..ah, so much to do and so little time to do it in!
Plays great, minor sleeve marks, mild ring wear on labels.
