Jeff Dale – A Suffering Pain / Our Love Will Grow Stronger – Atco demo £55 'Pain' is every bit the morbid, funeral-paced, agonised ballad you might expect (in the best possible sense), 'Our Love' is a mid tempo groover
Barbara Lynn – This Is the Thanks I Get– Atlantic demo £50 wonderful, wonderful deep soul that's pretty much dancing pace these days. Give it a try, Mr DJ!
Pic & Bill – Gonna Give It To You / Soul of a Man – Blue Rock demo £25 visually vg+/+, plays Exone from the Allanton All Nighters up here, 'Give' is a cracking, horn driven belter; while 'Soul' sees the boys morph into Sam & Dave, Southern soul balladeering mode. And bloody good at it, they are too!
The Spellbinders – We’re Acting Like Lovers – Columbia demo £30 looks vg++ with a few scuffs & surface scratches, but not affecting the Ex-sounding play. An out and out oldie from the golden era and all the better for it.
Bill Coday – Get Your Lie Straight / You’re Gonna Want Me – Crajon £18 vg++ Bill's had it with his ol' lady's bullsheeeyit and he let's her know, in this gritty, straight shootin' chugging mid tempo dancer. Flip is out and out deep, bluesy Southern soul. Jus' fabalous!
Tyrone The Wonder – Try Me / Suffer – 4 Brothers£30 he's back, the Wonder Boy with the voice of a retiree. For a young 'un, Tyrone sure had his share of women trouble and general woe. He perks up a bit on 'Try Me', a sturdy Chicago mid tempo dancer.
The Persians - Detour / I Can’t Take It Anymore – GWP Grapevine £25scuffs and surface scratches but NAP, it sounds just fine. Cracking soulful xo dancer, with a rather nice, jaunty flip
Soul Patrol – Need of Love / Save Your Love / – Highland £70 looks vg++, plays Ex. 2 cracking sidesof seldom seen, uptempo, soulful xo/Northern that's stayed under the radar for yonks
Ronnie Love – Let’s Make Love / Nothing To It – Almeria £40 'Love' we all know, a joyous 70's dancer , but 'Nothing on the flip' is a real cracker: mid-to-uptempo soulful dancer
Doug Gibbs –I’ll Always Have You There / Cloudy Day – Oak£15 two fine soul sides. Sadly I can't find a clip of Cloudy Day online, but fortunately there's a fabulous clip on YouTube of of Doug doing 'I'll Always Have...' on Soul Train - it's brilliant!
Little Charles & Sidewinders – Please Open Up The Door / You’re A Blessing – Red Sands £18 splendid double sider,' Please' is fine quality xo, 'Blessing' is rock solid deep soul. This record was also released with the same catalog number but with a printer's error that saw 'Please' retitled to 'Nobody Knows'. Exactly the same recording, but the missprint release is rarer, and it's also for sale - see below!

George E Smith – Don’t Find Me Guilty – Conclave £45man oh man, sublime stuff. Bought as a deep soul gem, but it could well see some dancefloor reaction these days. A beautiful record
Major IV – Down In The Ghetto / Sugar Pie – Venture £30not gonna give up on this Northern/xo delight, this really needs bought and played out. Can't find a clip online but 'Sugar Pie' on the flip is more of the same!
