*** SOLD *** Otis Clay – The Only way Is Up / Special Kind of Love – Echo £80 now, this definitely was a Clifton Hall spin. Joyous, uplifting and unsullied by that dire pop cover, plus ‘Special’ on the flip is a cracking, soulful modern mid tempo. As with most copies of this pressing, it’s not a great recording and has some in-built styrene crackles and hiss, hence the price…
Tommy Tate – If I Gave You My Heart / What Gives You The Right – Sundance £25 ‘What’ was the side I bought this for, but these days the funky groove of ‘Heart’ hits the spot…
Brotherly Love – Whole Lotta You In Me – Robinson & Son £50 I remember searching every box for this at my first Southport weekender, the tune of the weekend as I recall. That Chaka Khan – Ain’t Nobody hook became everyone’s earworm!
