Hart & Grant - Stuck on a feeling - Metro Sounds Int. Ltd. / EX / £400 (Monster two step on a rare Canada only 45. One of the best. Has a discretely written date on club mix side.)
Rolph Marcial - Black people / Now you’ve got it - Now / EX / £350 (Two great sides of Trinididad & Tobago soul. Vinyl is clean but “Black people” label side has one small and one larger tear, some discoloration and partial rubber stamp.)
Gil Billingsley - I’m me just me / That’s all she wrote - Landy Bug / EX / £200 (Very rare/obscure Detroit modern soul release written by no other than Dave Hamilton.)
Straight Jacket - The greatest part of loving / Fun - Showboat / EX / £200 (Now classic Detroit modern dancer. Always reminded me of the songs on the Brief Encounter “We came to play” LP.)
Lee Moore - Reachin out Part 1 / Part 2 - Reachin / EX / £100 (Classic Memphis disco/boogie, such a great dancer. Very rare first local issue before the national distribution one on Source.)
Five O’Clock - Watch for the morning / Hold on tight - O’Clock / EX / £70 (Rare 1982 double header out of Detroit. One side killer 2 step, flip a very nice dancer.)
Paradise - Tell her / We belong together - Phil LA of Soul / VG+ / £60 (Two lovely midtempo Philly modern sides. Record has a few light sleeve marks, plays well.)
Desi - I’m much too shy / I want to be with you - Blue / EX / £60 (Killer two step backed by great disco/boogie dancer. Well rare on US 45. Label has date scratched out, Soul Bowl stylee.)
King Saul - Baby it’s you - GCS / EX / £50 (Huge personal fave, top drawer two step with a spoken intro. One I used in my most recent two step mix, the volume 9 one.)
Barbara Carr - Reaching out to you - Bar-Car / EX / £50 (Killer two step! By far the rarest of her 45’s on the label. Different and better version to the LP here too.)
Chuck Strong - You beat me at my game - Music Mountain / VG / £50 (Very rare first version of this great modern soul dancer. Should be picked up for spins again like King Tutt, Bileo etc. Vinyl has some light markings and scuffs. Decent player, actual copy for sale in the youtube video.)
P-Funk All Stars - One of those summers - Hump / VG+ / £6 (Lovely little two stepper and one I used on our Slowjamz promotion mix. White demo, one side has a small tear and white round sticker.)
Teddy & the Fingerpoppers - Soul groove - Arctic / EX / £200 (Clean white demo original of this popular NS dancer. Deep stuff for the peak time dancefloor.)
Don Thomas - Come on train / Train start movin’ - NUVJ / EX / £180 (Super clean white promo copy of this iconic NS dancer. Don’t miss the much overlooked crossover flip which is great.)
Johnny Nash - (I’m so) Glad you’re my baby / Stormy - MGM / EX / £50 (Not a fave artist but this Mickey Stevenson production is a real nice Detroit midtempo dancer. BB hole through label.)
Jimmy “Bo” Horne - If you want my love - Alston / EX / £20 (Minty fresh white demo copy of this classic crossover dancer. Jimmy doing his best Jackie Wilson impression.)
Eptones - No one else but you / A love that’s for real - Jox / EX / £675 (Highly sought after Texas sweet soul which has sold for $1000+. Lovely dancer flip. Super clean white demo copy.)
Jupiter’s Release – Never never (Never met a girl like you) / Good stroke – Owl / VG+ / £275 (Very rare 1976 Dean Francis production, same label has Wee. Fantastic group harmony backed by a good funk tune. Vinyl has some light marks, ballad side plays well, flipside with a little occasional background noise.)
Maurice Jackson - Don’t stop saying you love me - Parrall / EX / £150 (Killer 1980 slowie from the former Independents member. His rarest and best solo disc.)
Karen Small - To get you back again / That’s why I cry - Venus / EX / £125 (Two lovely slow sides from Don Julian of the Larks fame. One borrowing a bit from Burt and Dionne, flip is pure lowrider kind of sound. White demo copy.)
Gene & Eddie – Darling I love you – Ru-Jac / EX / £75 (Lowrider styled deep soul duo with an amazing intro. Killer, just so soulful. Real hard to find in clean condition.)
Cissy Houston - Nothing can stop me - Janus / VG+ / £12 (Amazing haunting Don Davis/Groovesville production, intense ballad. There’s some light sleeve marks on vinyl which can be heard a little on the first fifth or so. With company bag.)
Goodie - Dancin free / Mary Holmes - Living in a world of make believe - Family Groove / NM / £45 (Two previously unissued sides, released this year limited to 300 copies which all sold out on pre-sales. Goodie is my pick but flip is a goodie too.)

NM – spotless record. One grading I don’t really use – one tiny mark/scuff/flame/scratch and it’s EX. Many new records will not make this grade.
EX – Basically everything that will look and play great.
VG+ – Will have marks that may very moderately affect play. Might have fairly large amount cosmetic marks not affecting play.
VG – Lots of marks, should still play fairly well but not perfect.
VG- – Lots and lots of marks, see description on how it plays.
