Hello and welcome to the August 2018 list! I hope you all had a great summer, and that you are now keen to add some great records to your collection.
A rather mixed bag this time around. Slim 45 sections includes modern soul, northern/crossover, sweet/deep/group and soulful reggae. There’s a meaty 12 inch section and a few nice albums in an album section ending the list.
BR, Karl
Modern Soul & 2 Step 45’s

Fire & Fury – Baby, you really got me going / I’ve got what you need – RAM / EX / £350 (Aka Gliders aka Brothers by Choice. Super rare 45 that came out before their album and singles on Ala. One side did get a 45 release later, one did not. Two great sides with the amazing two step/midtempo modern soul dancer “Baby, you really got me going” being my pick.)
Johnni Starr – I done found myself – Blue Wave / VG / £275 (Great rare modern soul. First release on the Hott Ice/Chain Reaction label. Jukebox swirl mark, plays well but not perfect. Actual copy for sale in the clip, see how it plays.)
O.T. Sykes – My first love / Stone crush on you – Fun City / EX / £170 (Killer double header! Awesome two step signed Wayne Douglas Jr, and classic modern soul flip. Gold label first press, not the yellow/goldish later one.)

Rideout – Someone special – Rota / EX / £160 (Another winner by Len Rideout, classic modern soul/disco dance track. Clean copy of this rare 12 incher.)
