World First: new recordings by Mike James Kirkland

Tonight on the Fingerpoppin Soul radio show live from Amsterdam we present the World Premiere of two upcoming 45s from soul legend Mike James Kirkland.

"Closer" a superb soul ballad will be released by Ubiquity Records on October 23.

"Stay, Don't Go" a midtempo beauty will be released on November 6.

These are the first new recordings by Mike James Kirkland in many years, and as the lucky ones who saw him at Soul 4 Real in Bilbao can attest he is still on the top of his game.

    I almost missed this.  Great news.  I've dug further into his music this year after hearing it played by DJs more on Mixcloud.    A talent that is underappreciated to me.
