Chicago group harmony heaven. A lowrider gem that is still under the radar by comparison to many others but is easily as good as any of the current in demanders and significantly rarer. First issue before being picked up by Al Benson’s Crash label as the flip to their northern monster ‘Just Beginning To Love You’. Notoriously hard to find in decent condition, this one is close to mint- with clean and shiny labels!
The Desires - Oh What A Lonely Night / Black Girl (Starville) Mint- £100
Flawless copy of this gorgeous double sided in demander. Prices still rising on this and decent copies drying up with demand going crazy, last copy I had was snapped up before I’d listed it. Don’t sleep.
Pendulum Swingers - Never Should Have Loved You Baby (Pendulum) Vg+ (lots of hairlines but plays well, sound clip below) £30
Something of a collectors 45 this one and highly regarded (was a Butch tip I believe some years ago). Fabulous mid tempo group harmony/sweet soul cut that is damn near impossible to find in playable condition (almost every copy I’ve ever come across has been beat), this one has a fair few hairlines but plays strong Vg+.
