Don Robey was the prolific owner and producer behind a conglomerate of label’s based in Houston, Texas that included Peacock, Back Beat, Duke, Sure-Shot and D.E.A.R, all hosting significant Soul content throughout their individual catalogues, and extending to Song Bird for the Gospel genre. Releases across all labels are likely to exceed a 1000, which is a massive enterprise in any label group, leaving a significant legacy to 50s, 60s and 70s musical history
This powerhouse dancer released in 1967 was the last of Williams cuts for the label and remains to this day as sought after by collectors as much as DJs. This copy is in overall excellent shape with a minor edge lift, a couple of light lines, none of which affect play.
