Revlons - (Oh Oh Oh) What A Love This Is/Did I Make A Mistake (Toy) Mint- £125
Last copy of this I had flew out and it’s no surprise with two top drawer sides back to back. What A Love is of course Pat Brady’s old Masqueraders c/up from the early ‘80s, a fantastic dancer that’s never really had its day. Flip is a sublime under the radar lowrider group harmony cut that will rise and rise in value. Much much rarer than it’s going rate indicates, a genuinely tough 45 to obtain.
Funk edged group dancer that’s been growing in reputation and demand in recent years. One click of the sound bite will tell you why, a storming dancer that sounds just right for now. Lovely black (rarer than blue?) stock copy, £100 on one well known dealer’s site and this is much better condition if the sound file is anything to go by so a bargain.
Fidelics - I Love You Baby/Lovers In The Park (Rising-Soul) Mint- £60
Double sided dynamite. Lovers In The Park is a sublime lowrider cut that a quick YouTube search will reveal as one revered by many of the top collectors and DJs on that scene. But the flip, an infectious group harmony dancer that wouldn’t have sounded out of place at Stafford, is clearly less well known. Not an easy 45 to pull either.
