The Delwands - This Time (I’m Gonna Win)/Marsha & The Delwands - No Hope, No Faith (Zudan) Vg++/Ex (a couple of superficial marks only away from Mint- £175
Arguably one of the most in demand 45s of lowrider origins to have crossed over, a stunning slab of sweet with a beat that I was championing some 12 or more years ago. Added bonus of so underplayed and highly underrated northern dancer. Hard to find these days especially in clean condition. Don’t sleep.
Houston Outlaws - It’s No Fun Being Alone (Westbound) Vg++ £75 (N.B. If buying for the funk edged flip please be aware this side grades G+, plays through but with a fair few ticks and clicks mostly overpowered by recording)
Just enough beat here I think to take this in demand lowrider cut into crossover territory. Not widely known and actually very very hard to find. ‘No Fun’ plays beautifully but the funk edged flip is pretty wrecked, hence price or it would be double.
Top Shelf - Let Them Keep On Talking/Stop And Listen (Open Your Heart) (Spectrum) Mint- £60
For me the better of their two Spectrum 45s, both of which are increasingly in demand. Gorgeous lowrider top side with a terrific lesser known crossover dancer on the flip. Hard to find in clean condition and still relatively cheap. One with lots of potential to rise in value.
