Another mixed bag of the unusual and the not-so-unusual. Some great quality bargain rare soul here. Great 45s but I just never play them.

  • Monarch stamped styrene original of this funk classic

  • Been growing in popularity and rightly so
  • This is a brilliant uptempo Northern dancer from a gospel tune – copies dried up

  • Top drawer late 60s/early 70s group harmony funk-edged Northern dancer

 

(7) The End Results – “The Only Solution” (Motion City) EX/M-  £30

  • Top notch 70s funky soul for the dancefloor

 

(8) Frankie Newsome – “Don’t Mess With My Lovemaker” (Savern) EX £40

  • Superb slab of mid-tempo Detroit

 

(9) Jackie Day – “I Can’t Wait” (Paula WD) EX/M-  £30

  • Strange song title but a crunching slab of Nola funky soul with breaks and all – superb dancefloor record

  • Deservedly getting more attention now – a fantastic record

  • The Stones cover is in-demand but the real gem is actually Good Girls – a far superior tune and a real gem
