Here’s 15 funky Northern pounders reduced from my previous listings. Some great quality bargains here for the DJ boxes. Great 45s but I just never play them.

Should all be on YouTube but I can supply soundfiles on request.

Postage to be added. PayPal F&F (or please add 4% to cover my fees) or bank transfer.

(1)    Al Pinkston Jr – “You’re Not There” / “I Look, I See” (Tra Mo) VG+   £50

  • Been tipped and played on and off for a bit now but still plenty of plays in this
  • Raw funky soul dancer with a real nice crossover mid-tempo on the flip
  • Great value record from the folk behind the Knight label

(3)    Dr Soul – “Left Eye Jump” (Mon’Ca) EX  £60

(4)    Eddie Griffin – “Miss Pretty Pt1” (San-Ray) EX £90    *****SOLD*****

  • Superb and obscure pounding Northern R&B 60s dancer with a touch of a funk kick
  • How this hasn’t had attention before is beyond me - great value for the money

(5)    The Esquires – “Henry Ralph” (Hot Line promo) EX/VG+  £30

  • Double-sided promo (not My Sweet Baby on the flip)

(6)    Johnny Davis – “You Got To Crawl To Me” (Bandit) EX £60

  • Deservedly getting wider attention now – a fantastic record

(7)    Johnny Mae Mathews – “My Momma Didn’t Lie” (Big Hit) VG+  £70

(8)    Kings Of Soul – “Girl What Have You Done” (Down To Earth WD) VG+  £80

  • Slight water staining on labels
  • OK, so not the rare issue with the big flip but this is brilliant enough

(9)    Lattimore Brown – “Sweet Desiree” (Renegade DJ) VG+/EX sol  £40

(10)  Little Man & The Inquires – “Funky Breakdown” (Cu-Wu) EX  £40    *****SOLD*****

  • Superb Detroit early 70s kiddie funker with bags of potential for the imaginative DJs

(11)  The Shackleford Singers – “God Is All Over Me” (R&S) EX  £130

  • Utterly fantastic raw heavy 60s/early 70s Detroit gospel funk

(12)  Tiny Powell – “Get My Hat” (Ocampo) EX  £90

  • Gritty mid tempo pounding 60s R&B dancer – great record and not easy to find in good condition

(13)  Victory Travelers – “I Know I’ve Been Changed” (Courtn’) EX/M-   £65

(14)  Walter Hamilton – “Nobody But Me” (Hi-Q) EX  £65

  • Should be a big 45 – gritty funk-edged R&B

(15)  The Walter Letts Gospel Singers – “Bad Confusion” (Letts Records) VG  £50

  • Some crackle but a decent enough copy for playing out loud
  • Superb and tough gospel dancer
